The Colonial Conference has gotten off to a strong start and it has solid prospects set for a big rest of the season. Here are the players in the Colonial Conference who should have a big 2022 season.
Tommy Mooney Tommy Mooney 6'1" | PG Haddonfield | 2022 State NJ , 6’1 PG Haddonfield 2022
Haddonfield has been one of the top Group 2 programs over the last couple of seasons and that shouldn’t change with Mooney running the show. The 6’1 guard has a good handle, which he uses to beat his defender off the bounce and finish around the basket. Mooney knows how to draw contact and has a good release on his jumper. He makes plays on the defensive end and is a strong rebounder for a guard. Mooney does a little bit off everything for a Haddonfield team looking to make another deep run in the state tournament.
Mehki Bassett Mehki Bassett 6'3" | SF Collingswood | 2022 State NJ , 6’3 SF Collingswood 2022
Bassett got his senior season off to a hot start as he has three 20-point games already this season and should have more as the year unfolds. The 6’3 wing plays with confidence in the half court and has a nice shooting stroke on his perimeter jumper. Bassett can also score in the mid-range and does not mind drawing contact on his way to the basket. He fights for rebounds on both ends of the floor and is an underrated passer. Bassett should continue to put up big numbers for Collingswood as the seasons progresses.
Keyshun Sanders Keyshun Sanders 5'11" | PG Paulsboro | 2022 State NJ , 5’11 PG Paulsboro 2022
Sanders has been making plays all season for Paulsboro and should continue to do so in 2022. The 5’11 guard is lightning quick with the ball in his hands and can finish in a variety of ways around the basket. Sanders has a nice touch on his floater and gets his teammates involved in the half court. He is a thief in the backcourt and is one of the top available rebounding guards. Sanders is a two-way guard prospect who should continue to stuff the stat sheet as the year goes on.
Liam Gorman, 5’11 PG Gloucester 2023
Gorman has been the go-to guy for Gloucester this season and should continue to put up solid numbers in 2022. The 5’11 guard has a smooth release on his jumper and can knock down triples in bunches. Gorman moves exceptionally well off the ball, setting himself up for open layups and shots. He is an underrated rebounder and moves his feet well on the defensive end. Gorman’s ability to play on and off the ball is something that will help his stock in a big way as the season continues.
Jaydis McFadden, SG Sterling 2023
McFadden has been a steady presence on the floor for the Silver Knights after the graduation of Antoine Arnett Antoine Arnett 6'5" | SF Peddie | 2022 State NJ . The junior guard is at his best attacking the basket as he is a good finisher and does not mind drawing contact. McFadden has a nice handle, which he uses to get by his defender in the half court. He does not force the issue in the half court and is a good rebounder. McFadden is a tough guard prospect who should continue to put up solid numbers for Sterling.
