The atmosphere was great, there were tons of known talented players and other under the radar guys and it was an excellent week of basketball.
We take a look at part three of some of the 2022 standouts.
If you’d like to watch the Southeast Invitational you can check it out on the CBG Live Network.
Gary Williams | 6’4” WG | Grace Christian
It was my first time seeing Williams, and he struck me as an available prospect a lot of schools in NC would be interested in getting to know. He has good size on the wing and is a good athlete who can play on or off the basketball, he can get to spots and make shots from multiple levels and he has great tools on the defensive end of the floor too.
TJ Hurley TJ Hurley 6'4" | SG The Rock | 2022 State FL | 6’5” WG | The Rock School (FL)
Hurley was probably The Rock’s most consistent player, as the 6’5” wing showed a great feel for the game and an overall skill set that would make a lot of colleges happy. At 6’5” he has good size on the wing, he makes good decisions and has good vision with the ball in his hands, he shot the ball with consistency from deep and he showed the ability to impact the game in a number of ways.
Aliou Cisse | 6’6” PF | Carolina Basketball Academy (GA)
Cisse was out of this world in CBA’s win over Vertical Academy, as the athletic and high motor forward was consistent on both ends of the floor and made plays across the board. He’s long and very bouncy and played above the rim with consistency, he stayed in attack mode and showed he can slash in straight lines and create in isolation situations and he has great versatility defensively as he can guard multiple positions.
Randy Crosby | 6’1” CG | Carolina Basketball Academy (GA)
In the game of the weekend, Crosby took over for CBA down the stretch in their buzzer beater win against Vertical Academy, and he hit the game winner as time expired, a three-pointer that gave them a 101-100 win in a very hostile environment. He’s a heady combo guard who can make shots consistently from deep, he has great instincts on both ends of the floor and he’s able to create shots and was a consistent scorer and playmaker for his team in both games.
Daryl Houston | 6’2” CG | Carolina Basketball Academy (GA)
Houston was another CBA guard who had a good weekend, showing his ability to run the show and create and make shots from multiple levels. He’s a good athlete who is smooth off the bounce and gets to his spots, he can rise up and knock down the pull-up consistently, he’s a good finisher at the rim and he’s a good rebounder for his position as well.
Zach Bell | 6’3” CG | TD Prep (GA)
Bell is an intriguing prospect for TD Prep as he’s an elite athlete who brings it on both ends of the floor and plays with good tenacity and has good upside moving forward. He gets up and down well and is a menace in transition with his athleticism, he’s an elite on ball defender who can guard the other team’s best player and he is just scratching the surface with how good he can be moving forward.
AJ Hopkins | 6’6” PF | TD Prep (GA)
Hopkins was one of TD Prep’s most consistent players, as the 6’6” stretch forward did a little bit of everything to help his team and was a walking mismatch with his ability to play inside-out. He has good size and long arms to get deflections and challenge shots, he can step out and stretch the defense as he’s a consistent shooter from deep and he plays with a good motor and is willing to bang in the paint for rebounds and to keep plays alive.
