Prospect Spotlight: Orlando Lovejoy (2022)
<p>North Carolina has welcomed a new face to their basketball scene. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="863928" first="Orlando" last="Lovejoy"]</strong>, formerly of Summit Academy in Michigan, has taken his talent to the state. Let’s take an inside look at this star player.</p>

<p>PROGRAM: 1 Of 1 Elite (Head Coach - Jermaine Jackson)</p>
<p>HEIGHT: 6-3</p>
<p>WEIGHT: 188</p>
<p>POSITION: CG</p>
<p>STRENGTHS:</p>
<p>- Power: Lovejoy keeps growing and adding muscle to his frame. So much so that his ability to create power, both in his legs and his upper body, has become a big tool in his tool box.</p>
<p>- Physical play: With his increase in strength and power, his physical style of play has excelled as well. Lovejoy can shrug off contact on his way to the rim and finish through a defender.</p>
<p>- Playmaker in transition: Lovejoy is fast up and down the floor. When he leads a break, he plays with his head up and on a swivel. This allows him to see the floor and read the defense. Lovejoy can dish and score, both with some flare.</p>
<p>- Energy: Lovejoy is a high energy player that has the ability to log heavy minutes with no effect on his performance. He’s like a waterbug and it really feels like he’s all over the floor.</p>
<p>- Ball handling: Lovejoy can beat pressure and get the ball up the floor with his handles. He can also put the ball on the floor and break down a defender 1-on-1. </p>
<p>- 2 way player: Lovejoy is tough to take out of a game because he’s consistently effective on both ends of the floor.</p>
<p>RECRUITMENT: Lovejoy has been offered by the likes of Eastern Michigan University, Central Michigan University, and Long Island University. I’ve always been extremely high on this young man as a player and a prospect. He’s a hard worker that trusts and stays confident in his path. Trust me when I say that Lovejoy is a really easily recruitable player. He’s a classy and engaging young man that fans and coaches will love. In my opinion, he has high major type potential.</p>
