Logan Dobberstein Logan Dobberstein 6'5" | PF Pewaukee | 2022 State WI – 2022 – F – Pewaukee
Dobberstein was originally ranked, before he opted to play baseball in college. The 6-foot-6 forward is probably still a top 100 prospect in the state. Dobberstein had a terrific all-around effort, contributing 13 points, four rebounds, and three assists, and a steal for the Pirates. Taking advantage of all the attention that was going to his teammates, Dobberstein often got easy drives to the rim, sometimes coast-to-coast. Dobberstein has always had some intriguing versatility, able to handle the ball on the perimeter and pass out of the post. WAC often tried to pressure him up the floor, but Dobberstein kept his head up, stayed alert, and found open shooters.
Courtney Davis – 2022 – PG – West Allis Central
A new name that probably played his way into the rankings, Davis was the most consistent player for WAC during Thursday’s loss. A fast and shifty guard, Davis created a lot of good offense for the Bulldogs. Davis had a deadly in-and-out tribble or hesitation blow-by that allowed him to get all the way to the rim or create an open jumper. In traffic, he does a great job of looking off help-side defenders or using bal fakes en route to the rim to give himself just enough space. Davis had a couple of nice dribble-drive assists as well on Thursday.
Nick Janowski Nick Janowski 6'3" | SG Pewaukee | 2024 State #126 Nation WI – 2024 – G – Pewaukee
Janowski had 19 points, six rebounds, and six assists for the Pirates. He scored all 19 of his points in the first half. Nobody could check the sophomore guard on the ball. Janowski hit a series of step-back jumpers to blow the game open for Pewaukee in the first half. The 6-foot-4 guard is one of the top shot creators in the state. He’s got extremely quick feet for his size and Janowski can generate a rhythm jumper with quick, little moves instead of using a ton of dribbles. In the second half, Janowski became more of a facilitator. Even though he wasn’t taking a ton of shots, Janowski remained aggressive by setting up his teammates.
Milan Momcilovic Milan Momcilovic 6'8" | SF Pewaukee | 2023 State #44 Nation WI – 2023 – F – Pewaukee
Momcilovic poured in a game-high 22 points. The 6-foot-8 forward pretty much scored in every way possible. With WAC’s lack of size up front, Momcilovic worked inside-out. He got a number of easy baskets early, was able to seal his man, and create clear post-entry feeds that led to layups. Once he got rolling in the second half, it was all over for the opposition. Momcilovic sets up his offensive game so well. He hit a transition 3-pointer. On his next opportunity, caught on the 3-point line, got his man in the air with a pump fake, and then drove baseline for a dunk.
Kollen Osterman – 2022 – G – Pewaukee
Osterman scored a career-high 20 points in Thursday’s win. The senior guard was 6-of-7 from the 3-point line and also had three steals. What I loved most, Osterman didn’t look surprised by his breakout performance. He never cooled off, had the game of his life, and yet, there was never any excessive celebration on his end. Osterman, who came in averaging 1.5 ppg, looked to attack throughout the game. Pewaukee has arguably the best ball movement in the state. There were plenty of possessions where Osterman may have initiated the offense and 5-6 passes later, he was on the other end of the floor on the receiving end of an open 3-point field goal opportunity.
Josh Terrian Josh Terrian 6'4" | SF Pewaukee | 2022 State WI – 2022 – SF – Pewaukee
Terrian came out and hit three-straight triples to get Pewaukee off to a strong start. He finished with 11 points, seven rebounds, and three assists. Loved what Terrian did defensively. His awareness level was extremely high. If a West Allis Central player turned his back, Terrian swooped in and created a double team, which often led to a turnover. If one of his teammates was beaten off the dribble, Terrian’s help-side defense was right on time and he collapsed the paint on a handful of occasions. One of the top 3-and-D prospects in the state, the Michigan Tech commit has serious glue guy potential that ties his teams together.
Najashi Tolefree Najashi Tolefree 6'6" | SF West Allis Central | 2022 State WI – 2022 – SF – West Allis Central
Tolefree led the Bulldogs with 21 points on Thursday. The Northern Michigan was very tough around the rim and powered through contact on multiple occasions to finish over defenders. The 6-foot-5 senior has a very effective face-up game. With a strong blend of length and strength, Tolefree has the option to slash or shoot over the top. Also able to score fading away from the rim, Tolefree has a nightmare skillset to defend in that 12-18 foot range. Tolefree also has some point-forward potential as well. He serves as an extra ball handler and can jump start the fast break. While he’s got a scoring mindset, Tolefree definitely has a feel as a facilitator when he gets deep into the teeth of the defense.
