TURNING POINT
With three minutes to go in the third quarter, the Conquerors had Owasso on the ropes. A thunderous dunk cut the Rams’ lead to one, and it looked like Victory was in control. However, Owasso rallied, especially behind its senior leaders, Caden Fry Caden Fry 6'7" | C Owasso | 2022 State OK and Caleb Leslie Caleb Leslie 6'1" | SG Owasso | 2022 OK , and ensued on a 16-6 run to propel the Rams to a strong lead late in the game. Victory was unable to recover as Owasso cruised to the win.
PLAYER(S) OF THE GAME
It was almost impossible to pick just one, so two players take home the crown for their efforts Monday night: Fry and Leslie, who combined for 40 points in the win.
Leslie’s 19 came mostly from long-range, as the quick-as-a-whip sharpshooter knocked down five triples in the win. He was ready to catch and shoot, even in compromised space, and was excellent all night.
Fry, the Rams’ focal point, was able to score through the trees, having apparently little trouble finishing through contact while showcasing a variety of scoring moves. He also added eight rebounds for the Rams.
NOTABLE
Owasso, regarded as one of the giants of the East-side, will get its chance to play 5A No. 1 Tulsa Memorial in the semifinal game Tuesday night at the BOK Center. The Chargers, undefeated and boasting 12 wins already, have hardly been challenged but once or twice this season, but the Rams could be the crew to finally give Memorial a run for its money.
