9-Man First Team Offense
Corban Potts Corban Potts 6'3" | PG LaMoure/Litchville-Marion | 2022 State ND (2022) |6-3 PG| LaMoure/Litchville-Marion
He made the All-State Team as a QB. Potts had a perfect season going undefeated and winning the State Championship. In hoops, Corban will be one of the best PG’s in Class B. Potts is a very intelligent player on both sides of the ball. He directs traffic and runs the show on offense. On defense, Corban is a very very good defender. Look for the Loboes to come into the hoops season ready to keep winning after all the success they had this fall.
Jace Friesz Jace Friesz 6'3" | SF Flasher | 2022 State ND (2022) |6-3 F| Flasher
He made the All-State Team as a QB. Jace was also All-State in basketball last season. Friesz was a walking double-double last winter and I expect more of the same this winter. Jace is a strong player and a top-notch rebounder. Friesz is a productive and efficient finisher around the basket. Expect Jace and the Bulldogs to contend for a Region-5 Championship this spring.
Colton Ness Colton Ness 6'2" | SG LaMoure/Litchville-Marion | 2023 State ND (2023) |6-2 SG| LaMoure/Litchville-Marion
He made the All-State Team as a TE. Ness had a perfect season going undefeated and winning the State Championship. He had a phenomenal season catching the ball and making splashy plays. In hoops, Ness is a lock-down defender and a stud athlete. He can get out on the wing and slash to the cup for buckets. Just like in football, Colton has unbelievable hands. This helps him board-up as few wings can. Look for Ness and Potts to be a dynamic duo for the Loboes.
Dylan Rud Dylan Rud 5'10" | SG New Salem/Almont | 2022 State ND (2022) |5-10 SG| New Salem-Almont
He made the All-State Team as a WR. Dylan and the Holsteins had a great season but came up a bit short in the playoffs. In basketball, you should expect Dylan to stand out shooting the ball from behind the arc and from mid-range. He worked very hard this past year and Dylan will come into games bigger, stronger, and more skilled.
Jace Nelson Jace Nelson 5'10" | PG Ray | 2022 State ND (2022) |5-10 PG| Ray
He made the All-State Team as a WR. In hoops, Nelson will be one of the best seniors in Region-8. Jace is a smooth and quick point guard that will put pressure on defenses with his athleticism and constant attacking. He will be a problematic defender that creates turnovers and scoring chances in transition.
9-Man First Team Defense
Wyatt Caraballo Wyatt Caraballo 6'0" | SG Divide County | 2023 State ND (2023) |6-1 G| Divide County
He made the All-State Team as an LB. Expect Wyatt to carry his football success into the hoops season. The young Caraballo is a very nice athlete that has a well-rounded game. He can score in multiple ways and Wyatt should be one of the better players in Region-8 this season.
9-Man Second Team
Cruz Hernandez Cruz Hernandez 5'11" | SG Hankinson | 2023 State ND (2023) |5-11 G| Hankinson
He can really score the basketball and Cruz is a great athlete. Hernandez improved his game over the summer, especially as a defender. Cruz is skilled with the basketball and he is a fierce competitor.
Evan Richman Evan Richman 6'2" | SF Maple River | 2022 State ND (2022) |6-2 F| Maple River
He plays physically and he does not shy away from contact around the paint. Richman is a bouncy athlete that can get up for rebounds and finish at the rim. Look for Evan to put up impressive numbers this season.
Kelby Azure Kelby Azure 6'4" | PF Hatton/Northwood | 2022 State ND (2022) |6-4 PF| Hatton/Northwood
He has committed to NDSU for football. Kelby is very physical and a special athlete. He will average a double-double this winter. Azure can take over the paint and dominate inside the arc.
Dalen Leftbear Dalen Leftbear 6'3" | SF FourWinds/Minnewaukan | 2024 State ND (2024) |6-2 SF| Four Winds-Minnewaukan
He has a bright future in basketball and Dalen is just starting to tap into his potential. For such a young player, Dalen is already a two-way player. He is a gifted athlete that shines in transition and at attacking the rim.
Weston Kuhn Weston Kuhn 6'5" | PF New Salem/Almont | 2022 State ND (2022) |6-5 PF| New Salem-Almont
He is a beast around the basket and he will be a double-double player this season. Kuhn is a tremendous rebounder and a physical presence. Expect him to be a rim protector and for Weston to be the backbone of the Holstein defense.
Lane Caraballo Lane Caraballo 6'3" | SF Divide County | 2022 State ND (2022) |6-3 SF| Divide County
He is a physical kid and a nice athlete. Caraballo scores many of his points in the paint but he can also nail the 15-foot jumper. He should be a very serious rebounder and a stout defender.
Tyson Enget Tyson Enget 5'11" | PG Powers Lake-Burke Central | 2023 State ND (2023) |5-11 PG| Powers Lake
He will be one of the best junior guards in Class B. Tyson is a sniper and a scoring machine. Expect Enget to score at will this year. He is also a facilitator and a gifted ball handler. Tyson can also get the job done on the defensive end.
