Scouting Report: Jahi Gibson (2022)

[player_tooltip player_id="1180507" first="Jahi" last="Gibson"] is a talented guard that coaches at the next level will want to keep an eye on. Below, we take an inside look at him as a player and prospect.

NAME: [player_tooltip player_id="1180507" first="Jahi" last="Gibson"]

GRADUATION YEAR: 2022

HEIGHT: 6’1"

POSITION: Guard

SCHOOL: Fredrick Douglass Academy

STRENGTHS:

- Playing downhill, both with and without the basketball - Gibson really likes, and is very comfortable, playing an aggressive style of offense. He seems to stay in attack mode.

- Setting the tone / controlling the offense

- Defense - Plays solid on ball and off ball defense (skilled enough to be a defensive stopper). Defense travels, and his should carry over to the next level.

- Coachability - He’s a natural student of the game that likes to learn. He can be put in any system and will learn it and excel.

- Finishing at the rim - He has great touch around the bucket and can finish at a high percentage and with creativity.

- Underrated perimeter passer

AREAS FOR IMPROVEMENT

- Coming off ball screens - This would give him another way to attack the rim and allow for more scoring opportunities.

- Increased range, and consistency with, his jumper. This will keep the defense honest when defending him and make attacking the rim off the bounce that much easier for him.

ULTIMATE BASKETBALL GOAL

"My ultimate basketball goal is to play at the college level and win and make my family proud." - [player_tooltip player_id="1180507" first="Jahi" last="Gibson"]

WHAT HE’S LOOKING FOR IN A PROGRAM / SCHOOL AT THE NEXT LEVEL

"Things I’m looking at in a program at the next level is just them giving me an opportunity. That’s all i need to turn heads." - [player_tooltip player_id="1180507" first="Jahi" last="Gibson"]

RECRUITMENT STATUS

Gibson’s recruitment is open. He could be a quality addition that has some very real upside as a player. His team first demeanor will be an instant addition in the locker room.
