Auburn eked out a hard-nosed win in a 67-60 victory versus the Dothan Wolves. The game featured some solid prospects who are under the radar and looking to make names for themselves. Take a look at the standouts below.
Auburn
Ja’keith Carr

5’10 PG
Carr seemed to be the unquestionable leader of the Tigers. He set the tone for his team offensively and defensively. Showed a willingness to defend with high intensity and apply pressure at the point of attack. Offensively he showed discretion and an ability to know when to score and distribute the ball. Carr showed a tight handle and an ability to break down any defender in front of him. Once he does get into the lane, he has an excellent floater that he can get to any time he wants and a respectable pull-up jumper. Lastly, Carr’s IQ makes him a coach on the floor. Did an excellent job of controlling the tempo and making good decisions in transition and the half-court.

6’1 SG
Buckley is a solid slasher with a significant first step who uses his speed and explosiveness to put pressure on defenders and get to the rim. He does a solid job of getting to his spots off the dribble and creating space for his release. Buckley also uses his speed well in transition by attacking gaps in the defense and forcing the issue when in 1v1 fastbreaks to initiate contact and draw fouls.
Dothan
Thomas Dowd 6’5 SF
Dowd is a solid wing with college size and a college-ready jumper. He primarily scores as a stationary shooter but is effective as a trailer in transition. Dowd understands matchups well and attacks in the post when guarded by a smaller defender. He does a good job of drawing fouls and converts at a high rate when at the free-throw line. Dowd also is a solid offensive rebounder who constantly gives his team second-chance points during the game.
JD Palm 6’9 PF/C
Palm is a 6’9 freshman who has plenty of room to grow in size and skill but shows potential to be a possible blue-chip recruit. Palm displayed guard skills with step-back 3s, catching and shooting, dribbling down the court in transition. He also showed good hands and wasn’t clumsy with the ball like most bigs his age. Defensively he uses his size well and protects the rim with good vertically and effects shots at a high rate. Once Palm develops his offensive game, fills out his frame, and gains more confidence with more experience, he will be a problem for the whole state.
