Deunta Young Jr 2024 Guard 6’0 North Dallas High School
Deunta is great with a live dribble and created a plethora of looks for his teammates by getting downhill and attacking the rim. I was very impressed with his ability to dictate the tempo and control the game, but also his aware passing ability. Whether it was passed up the court or making the right reads within the half-court pick and roll Young showed off his supreme court awareness. He is the true definition of a facilitating slasher at the guard position. As he continues to grow, I am interested to watch his potential. I would like to see him work on creating open looks for himself by getting to his shot off the dribble.
STEPHEN REINDORP STEPHEN REINDORP 6'0" Clark | 2024 TX 2024 6’0 Clark
Stephen is an athletic guard with plenty of potential. He already controls the game with great maturity and is fearless when attacking the rim. He is never afraid of meeting anyone in the paint and really flies around the court wreaking havoc. I was very impressed with his ability to pass out of trouble, especially as he started to garner more of the defense’s attention. I would like to see him work on his ability to shoot off the dribble, especially behind the arc. He is an impressive slasher already at a young age and if he begins to hone in on his ability to punish from beyond the arc he has the potential to become a real weapon.
Geoffrey Lockett Jr Geoffrey Lockett Jr 6'1" James Bowie | 2024 TX 2024 6’1 James Bowie High School @Dwanwrld
Geoffrey is an impressive athlete who loves using his motor to outwork his opponents. I was impressed with his ability to defend all the levels of the court on defense by moving his feet and even chasing down wings at the rim. His energy on the defensive end of the floor brought life to his team. He displayed a reliable set shot from the corners as well. I would like to see him work on slowing down when he has a live dribble, too many times he got sped up into bad spots on the floor. I would like to see him incorporate a one to two dribble pull up into the midrange to punish the defense for closing out too hard.
Roy Marom Roy Marom 5'9" | PG Frisco Centennial | 2024 State TX 2024 5’9 Centennial High School
Roy is a sharpshooting guard who always seems to make the right decision with and without the basketball. He showed an ability to knock down shots from all around the arc and put the ball on the floor and create looks for his teammates. I was most impressed with his motor and ability to go after every long rebound and doing his part on the defensive end of the floor. I would like to see him work on attacking the basket and finish at the rim with more aggression.
Kalem Thomas Kalem Thomas 5'11" Randall | 2024 TX 2024 5’11 Randall High School
Kalem displayed all the necessary skills a point guard needs. His passes always seemed to be in his teammate’s shooting pockets. He consistently made the right reads on the fast break and got his teammates easy layups with his passes ahead. He displayed a pure stroke when setting up along the wings and corners. I would like to see him work on attacking defenders off the dribble, especially as they begin to close out on him hard.
Quinton Ross Quinton Ross 5'11" | C Summit | 2024 TX 2024 5’8 Summit High School
Quinton is a very aware point guard who always seems to make the right reads. I was very impressed with his ability to penetrate and recognize where the help defense was coming from and make the right passes out to his shooters. He seemed comfortable operating within the half-court offense. I would like to see him work on making his passes earlier, he is making the right reads just half a step too slow at times. I would also like to see him work on being more confident with his ability to attack the rim. He was able to get to his spots in the midrange and rise up off the bounce with ease, I would also like to see him incorporate a high arching floater to get off over bigs.
