Texas Top 250 Expo 2023 Wings (Part 2/2)

There was plenty of talent on display at the Prep Hoops Texas Top 250 Expo in Dallas. This is my in-depth analysis of each of the players in attendance. Be on the lookout for the rest of my top player’s list and my coverage of all the athletes.

Cole Andrews-Heitz Cole Andrews-Heitz 6'1" | PG Leander Rouse | 2023 State TX 2023 6’1 Leander-Rouse

Cole is a sharpshooting wing who can do it all on the offensive side of the ball. He displayed aggression when driving with a live dribble. He is an elite finisher in the lane and displayed crafty euro steps and finishes to evade defenders. He is a confident player with the basketball and is not afraid to score it on all three levels. He is great at drawing attention and dishing out to his open teammates. I would lie to see him work on his ability to defend on the ball and sliding over when needed to.

Corleone Dandridge Corleone Dandridge 6'5" | SG Sunrise Christian | 2024 KS 2023 6’4 Berkner High School

Coreleone is a massive wing who moves well for his size and can put the ball on the floor and attack the basket. His leaping ability allows him to be a force in the lane. I was very impressed with his ability to box out defenders and fight on the glass. On the defensive end of the floor, he is a great secondary defender.  I would like to see him work on his ability to protect the rim and also begin to incorporate scoring in the midrange off the bounce.

Devin Lewis Devin Lewis 6'4" | SG Dallas Carter | 2023 State TX 2023 6’3 David W Carter @Devin_Lewis23

Devin is a dynamic ball-handler who knows how to attack the basket out of the triple threat. He showed an ability to knock down shots from around the arc when given an opportunity to set his feet. He thrives at getting downhill and beating his defenders when they close out too hard. On defense, he is an aware help defender who can slide over to protect the rim or poke the ball free and tie up ball handlers. I would like to see him work on getting to his shot off the bounce especially in the midrange.

Carson Taylor Carson Taylor 6'4" | SF VR Eaton | 2023 TX 2023 6’3 VR Eaton High School

Carson is a hard-working wing who knows how to defend all positions on the floor. He fights hard for positioning underneath the basket and can play as a small ball forward if needed to. He displayed an ability to pick up guards the length of the court and wreak havoc as well. He seemed comfortable with his set shot in the midrange and beyond the arc. I would like to see him work on his ability to put the ball on the floor and attack space in the defense.

Jeremy Taylor Jr Jeremy Taylor Jr 6'4" | PF Vr Eaton | 2023 TX 2023 6’4 VR Eaton High School

Jeremy possesses great length and uses his high motor and aggression to dominate on both ends of the floor. He punishes defenses in the paint and thrives with his back to the basket.  I would like to see him work on his fluidity both with and without the ball. If he can begin to put the ball on the floor and attack the rim off the dribble he has the potential to become a real weapon.
