Wade Voss Wade Voss 6'5" | PF Lincoln Southeast | 2023 State NE | Lincoln Southeast | 6’7 F
Voss was another pure big at the expo. Standing at 6’7, he was dominant in the paint. One thing about his game that I took away from his game was his ability to defend guards. He is very mobile and his lateral quickness is another notable. He was able to keep guards on the attack in front of him all day. To go along with his quickness to keep up with guards, it also benefits him on the offensive end as he is able to get by bigs easy. He’s got great footwork and is very strong at the basket.
Taylan Vetrovsky Taylan Vetrovsky 6'3" | SG Freeman | 2023 State NE | Freeman | 6’3 G
One of the better rebounders at the expo. Some may look at Vetrovsky and see him only at 6’3 but this kid has bounce. It showed in not only his rebounding but all of his dunks and lobs he was catching on Sunday. What makes him such a different player is his athleticism. He’s got that rebounding ability and his bounce, but also has a very good handle. The jumper will come with repetition but this kid is a great two way player. Big time high energy defender with length and quick footwork.
Izaac Brooks Izaac Brooks 6'2" Tracy Joint Union | 2023 NE | Tracy Joint Union (CA) | 6’2 G
Brooks was another one more and go guy. Very quick handle to go along with his aggressive downhill drive. He was great at finding gaps on the attack and to add onto that, he had some tremendous downhill vision and passes. Plays tremendous defense, on ball and off ball, very active hands and was making very tough plays on both sides of the ball.
Paxon Piatkowski Paxon Piatkowski 6'4" | SF Elkhorn North | 2023 State NE | Elkhorn North | 6’5 F
I labeled Piatkowski as a forward but I believe with his abilities he could probably excel at the 2-4 positions. He’s a great rebounder and a very high iq finisher under the rim. He takes very high percentage shots and never forces. He gives it up at the right time. Great size and length, could be a benefit for Elkhorn North this winter.
Eli Robinson Eli Robinson 6'5" | PF Bellevue East | 2023 State NE | Bellevue East | 6’5 F
Another great rebounder at the expo was Eli Robinson Eli Robinson 6'5" | PF Bellevue East | 2023 State NE . He was an exceptional three point shooter, which helped stretch the floor. He’s another guy who could play the 2-4 positions on the floor. He’s got great quickness on both offense and defense. Offensively was able to muscle his way to the rim and defensively keep both guards and bigs in front of him.
Ben Boudreau Ben Boudreau 6'0" | PG Millard South | 2023 State NE | Papillion La Vista | 6’1 G
Boundreau is a pretty quick point guard out of the 2023 class. High IQ ball player with not a lot of flash but a lot of heart. Seemed to be more of a hesitation and go guy. To pair with that was some very under control and strong finishes, as well as a pure pullup jumper. He’s got a silky smooth jumper from the right side and had some real nice passes. Biggest thing about Boudreau for me was his effort in games 5 and 6. He was still showing life on offense and defense and showed barely any sign of fatigue.
