There are not many coaches in the state of Alabama that has the resume of Coach Barber. It is as though when you talk about the Final Four, you have to mention Coach Barber. After speaking with Coach Barber, he is excited about his team and the upcoming season. He has experience, depth, talent, and a burning inside of his team after losing at home in the playoffs last season. The Indians will be a team that will have a good chance to make a run deep into the playoffs.
I asked Coach Barber who is the biggest challenge to Pinson Valley accomplishing their goals for this season, and without hesitation, Coach Barber said, “Pinson Valley.”
With some tough early-season match-ups, Coach Barber and his team will not have to wait long to see just how much Pinson Valley either is ready for the journey to the civic center or if it’s going to take some time to pull everything together.
Key Early Season Match-Ups:
Nov. 6 vs Carver-Montgomery (Montgomery AL)
Dec. 1 vs Sidney Lanier (Home)
Dec. 11 vs Newton GA (@Newton GA)
On paper, the Indians are a championship-caliber team, and expectations are incredibly high. Coach Barber is confident that his team is going to defend, and they are going to shoot the trey ball well. Interesting enough, those are the two things that Coach believes if his team can do night in and night out, then the chances are the Indians can be at the BJCC. One thing is for sure, as it is with any Coach Barber led team, his team is going to play hard, play free, and play together.
