Cortez Freeman Cortez Freeman 6'2" | SG Africentric | 2024 State OH , 6’0 PG Canal Winchester 2024: Freeman and Derrick James Derrick James 5'9" | PG Canal Winchester | 2022 State OH form one of the most talented guard duos in central Ohio and I really think Freeman will benefit from playing next to a more experienced PG this season. I was impressed with the speed Freeman plays at with the ball in his hands and his slashing ability. I’ve only seen him for All Ohio Red 15U, I can’t wait to watch him in a more dominant on-ball role as a Sophomore.
DeMarr Foster DeMarr Foster 5'9" | PG Lima Central Catholic | 2024 State OH , 5’9 PG Lima Central Catholic 2024: Foster is another PG that really thrives in an up and down setting and relies on his quickness to get where he wants to on the court. Playing next to Keven Adorno Keven Adorno 5'10" | PG Princeton | 2023 State OH was a very small guard duo, but Foster showed the ability to play tough full-court defense by using his foot speed to stay in front of opposing ball-handlers. Lima Central Catholic was very young last season and I’d expect a major improvement in 2021-22.
Dominique Aekins Dominique Aekins 5'8" | PG Walnut Ridge | 2024 State OH , 5’7 PG Walnut Ridge 2024: Aekins is one of the more impressive athletes in this class, standing at just 5’7, Aekins is a super explosive jumper and is an absolute blur on the court. Aekins gets from point A to point B quicker than just about anybody. The EYBL was a great setting for Aekins to display his talents. Pangos is another setting that Aekins really thrived in. For Aekins, the questions are whether he can defend at his height and if the jump-shot becomes a real weapon. Based on watching him on the hardwood, I bet Aekins would be a great football player. Not sure if that’s in his plans, but I’d love to see him give the gridiron a chance too.
Jay Reynolds Jay Reynolds 6'3" | SG Cape Girardeau Central | 2024 State MO , 6’1 CG Talawanda 2024: Reynolds and Raleigh Burgess Raleigh Burgess 6'10" | C Sycamore | 2024 State #130 Nation OH were exciting to watch for Shining Star Price 15U in the one opportunity I got to see each play. Reynolds showed off the ability to score the basketball in a variety of ways and played well next to a stud big man. Reynolds displayed his basketball IQ to me as he’s grown up around the game.
Talan Noyes Talan Noyes 5'10" | PG Kings | 2024 State OH , 5’10 PG Moeller 2024: Noyes is one of the most psycho competitors I’ve seen since I began scouting high school basketball prospects. A very different player than his older brother Aidan, Talan is a true PG who can run the offense with a burner for a jumper. Noyes is ready to play a key role for Moeller on varsity this season. I think Cincy area basketball fans will soon come to love watching Noyes play.
