Continue ReadingThe new PrepHoops C/O 2025 rankings have been released! This is the first official rankings for this class, and the anticipation has been building for some time. The class is deep and features several players with size, length, and skill. Perhaps no position embodies that more than the wing spot. In this article, a follow-up to Top Wings Part 1, we take a look at the top wings in the class.
Colton Knoll Colton Knoll 6'4" | SG Red Rock Academy | 2025 State NV 6’2 SG Durango (#15) (featured image) – Knolls is one of the top shooters in the class. The lefty has a smooth stroke and can change the scoreboard with his ability to shoot the 3. He has a good feel for the game and moves the ball well when he doesn’t have a shot or driving lane.
Brian Townsend Brian Townsend 6'4" | SF Arbor View | 2025 State NV 6’4 SF Centennial (#18) – Townsend is a two sports athlete, currently making his presence felt on the football field. That’s appropriate since he is one of the top downhill players in the state. Townsend is a bully driver who dishes out contact on his way to the basket. Despite his size, he has nimble feet and good agility allowing him to defend out on the perimeter.
Kevan Wilkins Kevan Wilkins 6'4" | SF Red Rock | 2025 State NV 6’4 SF Valley (#20) – Wilkins is the prototypical wing. He has a smooth game and uses his length to gobble up real estate on his drives. Wilkins has the kind of size that allows him to defend multiple positions, making him one of the more versatile defenders in the class.
Roderick Johnson Roderick Johnson 5'10" | PG Somerset Losee | 2025 State NV 5’5 SG Somerset Losee (#27) – “Quick” as he is affectionately known, is one of the top shooters in the class. His nickname not only describes his foot speed, but also the rate at which he gets his shot off. Johnson has good fundamentals on his jumper, with his hands and feet ready, and no wasted motion on his shot.
Antwan Jones Antwan Jones 5'11" | SG Somerset Losee | 2025 State NV 5’11 SG Somerset Losee (#28) – Jones is one of the top defenders in the class. He is an absolute dog when playing on-ball, using quick hands to get steals. He’s quick in general. Jones has a good first step, and the ability to blow by defenders and get paint touches.
Jalen Butler Jalen Butler 6'2" | CG Shadow Ridge | 2025 State NV 6’0 SG Bonanza (#25) – It’s going to be difficult for opponents to go zone against Bonanza when Butler is on the floor. The freshman is one of the top shooters in the class and has the ability to be a floor-spacing specialist. He will probably transition down to the PG position, but with his shooting ability, he can easily serve as a floor-spacing specialist for the Bengals.
