The strength of this class lies in the Point Guard position with several high profile players. In this article, a follow up to Top Floor Generals Part 1, we take a look at some of the top Floor Generals in the new class of 2024 rankings.
Maximus Romero Maximus Romero 5'11" | PG Arbor View | 2024 State NV 5’9 Arbor View (#23) – Max is an under the radar performer, poised for a breakout year. He has a nice outside shot, showing he can be accurate from 3 point range. He also possesss sneaky good quickness, allowing him to beat opponents off the bounce.
Kaeden Castillero Kaeden Castillero 6'0" | SG Liberty | 2024 State NV 6’0 Liberty (#26) – Castillero is a player to keep a close eye on moving forward. The stockrising PG has played well against good competition. He plays the game with good pace, and has shown the ability to create for himself, and knock down open jumpers. He and fellow 2024 PG DJ Thomas DJ Thomas 6'2" | PG Liberty | 2024 #19 Nation NV look like the backcourt of the future in the state.
Jordan Childress Jordan Childress 5'10" | PG Rancho | 2024 State NV 5’10 Rancho (#32) – Childress is the PG of the future at Rancho. He’s the son and grandson of a coach, so it’s fair to say he’s a high IQ player. Childress’ best trait is his shot-making ability. He uses his handle and shiftiness to get into the lane and complete tough plays over defenders.
Immanuel Reed Immanuel Reed 5'7" | PG Sierra Vista | 2024 State NV 5’7 Sierra Vista (#33) – Reed is the type of PG that makes coaches feel comfortable. One of his best skills is his ability to protect the ball and limit turnovers. One of his other skills is his on-ball defense. Reed has good lateral quickness, allowing him to stay in front of opposing ballhandlers. A high academic player, Reed has shown the ability to make good decisions both in transition and half-court sets.
Jace Aquiningoc Jace Aquiningoc 5'9" | PG Liberty | 2024 State NV 5”8 Desert Oasis (#37) – Aquiningoc is the quintessential guy that shows up at the gym, doesn’t pass the eye test, and then starts giving out buckets. He has a good handle, and shoots it well but what I love about him the most is the fact that he’s a gamer. I got to see quite a bit of him on the Prephoops Circuit this summer, and he showed that he loves competition and is ready and capable of taking and making the big shot.
