6’7 F Logan Stempniak Logan Stempniak 6'6" | PF Kentwood | 2022 State WA , Kentwood HS (WA) | 2022
Logan has a nice game. Not a loud scorer, but by the end of the game you notice that he filled it up. He always seems to be in the right place at the right time. He is a lefty that can play inside and outside. On the perimeter, he showed the ability to knock down threes off the dribble and in spot-up situations. Inside, he showed a soft touch and an ability to score over either shoulder. He runs hard in transition and will finish above the rim. He also showed great body control in the air with a few acrobatic finishes; he had a nice double-pump reverse in transition.
6’3 SG Isaiah Cunningham, Rainier Beach HS (WA) | 2025
I love this kid’s motor. It was my second time seeing him play live, and I was even more impressed this time. He plays with a nice fire and competitiveness that you don’t often see in players his age. And although his skills are still raw, you can see the potential of his skillset. He’s a bigger guard that loves the pull-up jumper. He shoots it pretty consistently from the mid-range, and is capable from the 3pt range. He seems to have a pretty good understanding of the game, too; he sprints the lane for layups in transition and he knows when/how to cut. I probably didn’t catch them all, but I counted 4 layups just off different cuts. He will get into you defensively, too, which is always something you love seeing in younger players. Stock riser for sure.
6’6 F Quintan Akaka, H P Baldwin HS (HI) | 2022
Long, skinny frame but battles in the paint. Super active when on the floor. Quintin was all over the place and did the dirty work for his team. He didn’t need any plays called for him, or even ask for any post touches. He floated around the paint and short corners until he found open spots to receive dump-off passes. He is a relentless rebounder, especially on the offensive glass. He was constantly getting his hands on balls for tip-outs. He did a good job of contesting shots at the rim and battling bigger players in the paint.
5’5 PG Darren James Castillo, Baldwin HS (HI) | 2024
Lightning quick guard with a solid handle. I was told it was his first time playing against mainland players. You could see he was a bit nervous, but he held his own and played within himself. I loved his motor; he was all over the floor defensively just flying around. Offensively, he is a strong slasher going left. He hit some nice pull-up jumpers, too.
