Region 8 is going to be a battle every night because there are a some teams that will have the ability, the talent and the coaching to take the whole thing in 5A. Teams like Lehi, Alta and Orem will be strong contenders but looking down the line at schools like Timpview and Timpanogos who both have Division 1 talent.

Alta

This is a new look Alta team that is playing physical and with some fire this fall. Although their best players are likely Jett Lundberg Jett Lundberg 6'2" | PG Alta | 2022 State UT and Jaxon Heiden Jaxon Heiden Jaxon Heiden 6'9" | PF Alta | 2022 State UT the key to their success will fall on the young sophomore Jaxon Johnson. The kid can shoot the ball and he is a towering 6’8 or so. Look for him to benefit from any help.

Jordan

Jordan will be the new team in the region and they have lost a few key players to graduation and some have transfered. This is a great opportunity for Camden Gagnier Camden Gagnier 6'6" | SF Jordan | 2022 State UT to really use his skill against other high level wings. He rebounds and he slashes and could have a great season.

Lehi

The Pioneers are coming off of a stellar year and a State Championship. With many of their pieces gone due to graduation, Lehi will need to lean on a player that is consistent and will help them continue to improve. Grayson Brousseau Grayson Brousseau 6'6" | SF Lehi | 2024 State UT is going to be a major key to rebounding and scoring.

Mountain View

While Mountain View had almost every contributing player transfer to Orem, they will rely on some young players with zero experience. Key player is unknown.

Orem

Orem has some guys that can go but the player that will be a key to a long run in state or even a State Championship might be Nick Clark Nick Clark 6'3" | SG Orem | 2022 State UT . Nick will be the leader as a PG looking to create and help his team get open looks. Nick is smart and seasoned and he will likely be one of those stat stuffing guards that will hit every statistical category.

Timpanogos

Timpanogos has a new coach but they also return one of the best stretch bigs in the state in Bron Roberts Bron Roberts Bron Roberts 6'11" | SF Pleasant Grove | 2023 State UT . Bron has learned to embrace a more physical style of play and he is rim running a lot better now. With his ability to stretch the floor with his long ball Timpanogos is really going to depend on him to score big and score often.

Timpview

The T-Birds will ahve a new look as they graduate a lot of key seniors but they will need a young player who has big time experience to help them win, grow and develop as James Rust James Rust James Rust 6'5" | CG Timpview | 2023 State UT a smart/High IQ wing will be the leader of the team. James is sneaky athletic and he can really shoot the ball. James is a player that might not look the part but he is a baller.
