Ty-Laur Johnson Ty-Laur Johnson 6'1" | PG St. Benedict's | 2023 #134 Nation NY , 6’0 PG St. Benedict’s 2023
Johnson was dynamic for the Grey Bees on the day as opponents could not keep him out of the lane. The 6’0 guard has a tight handle which he used to get by his defender in the half court. Johnson pushed the tempo nicely in transition and made several beautiful passes throughout the day. He shoots the ball with confidence, as he showed to beat Bergen Catholic in the first game. Johnson is a smooth floor general who does what it takes to win games.
Luke Boyd Luke Boyd CG Archbishop Ryan | 2022 State PA , 6’1 SG Archbishop Ryan 2022
Boyd was a difference-maker for Archbishop Ryan as his play on the offensive end helped his team get a win over Bergen Catholic. The 6’1 guard caught fire from distance early as he knocked down a pair of triples. Boyd moved exceptionally well off the ball, setting himself up for key shots and layups when his team needed it most. He moved his feet well on defense and went after loose balls. Boyd’s shooting is something that will help him out in a big way as the season rolls on.
Deuce Jones Deuce Jones 6'1" | PG College Achieve | 2024 State #221 Nation NJ , 6’3 PG Trenton Catholic 2024
Jones had a big-time showing for the Iron Mikes as he made plays all over the floor. The 6’3 guard was able to get into the lane with ease and drew contact with consistency around the rim. Jones shot the ball with confidence from distance as he pulled up from over 25 feet on more than one occasion. He was aggressive on the defensive end, forcing several turnovers and easy layups for Trenton Catholic. Jones is a talented lead guard prospect who will only continue to grow his game as his varsity career moves forward.
Robert Wright, 5’11 PG Neumann-Goretti 2024
The Saints may have played four games in the past 2 days, but that did not stop Wright from putting on a show. The 5’11 guard attacked the basket with a purpose and was able to finish through contact. Wright shot the ball well from distance and ran the offense effectively in the half court. He moved his feet well on the defensive end and fought for rebounds on both ends of the floor. Wright’s ability to make plays in the lane is something that will be key for Neumann-Goretti this season.
Kaseem Watson Kaseem Watson 6'6" | CG West Catholic | 2022 State PA , 6’7 SF West Catholic 2022
Watson was a play-maker for the Burrs throughout the day as they consistently went to him when they need him most. The lanky 6’7 wing was able to get to his spot on the floor and used his size to shoot over smaller defenders. Watson attacked the basket hard, drawing contact with regularity. He made an impact on the defensive end as well as he used his length to get deflections, which led to runouts and dunks. Watson is a skilled wing prospect who does what it takes to win games.
