With 18 teams on three courts including 12 high school teams, 3 post grad teams and 3 showcase teams, there was plenty of talent across the board and tons of coaches tuned in and in person there to recruit the talent.
Here’s a look at some of the standouts in the 2024 class at session one. There will be two more sessions as well on October 10 and October 24 at U-Turn.
If you’re interested in watching the replays, you can see the entire event on the CBG Live Network.
Eli DeLaurier Eli DeLaurier 6'8" | C Miller School | 2024 #173 Nation VA | 6’8” PF | Miller School
DeLaurier is one of the highest recruited 2024 prospects in the state already, and he showed why as he has a ton of potential moving forward with his mix of size, versatility and athleticism. At 6’8” he’s able to run the floor and make plays in transition, he can step out and play on the perimeter with his ability to shoot it and pass and he plays with a good motor and can defend multiple positions as well.
Josiah Rickards Josiah Rickards 6'3" | CG Catholic | 2024 State VA | 6’4” WG | CBG Elite 2 (Catholic)
Rickards looked good in the first session of the Fall Series playing with CBG Elite, as the long and athletic wing showed good ball skills and the ability to play on and off the ball. He’s smooth on the ball as he can change speeds and directions well, he’s a shot maker off the catch and off the bounce and he should continue to fill out and get better as he develops over the next few years.
Donovan Richardson | 6’5” CG | CBG Elite 1 (Collegiate)
Richardson got hurt midway through the first game but it didn’t stop him from showing his very high potential moving forward as he should be one of the top players in the Richmond area over the next few years. At 6’5” he has great size for a guard and is smooth off the bounce as he can get in the lane and make plays off the bounce, he can score it in traffic and he can use his size on the defensive end to make plays as well.
Tony Goodman | 6’0” CG | Manor
Goodman impressed with his young and talented Manor group as the 6’0” guard showed good toughness and a good skill set that makes him able to impact the game in a number of ways. He’s a tough nosed on ball defender who can guard the length of the floor, he’s very strong for his size and can play through traffic and he can make shots from multiple levels on the floor.
Devin Minor | 5’10” PG | National Christian
Minor is a young name on a talented and experienced National Christian squad to keep an eye on moving forward. Minor played with great confidence as he handled pressure and made plays off the bounce, he has great instincts on both ends of the floors and is able to turn defense into offense and he’s highly skilled as both a scorer and playmaker with the ball in his hands.
