These players have a combination of skill and athleticism that is destined to take them to the next level. I view these 4 as some of the best scorers in the area that will be immediate impact players for their school at the varsity level.
Dwayne Wimbley Jr – 6’4 Wing – Dillard High School – Dwayne is one of those freak athletes who is a dominating presence on the court. He plays with the type of energy and passion that you want to see as a coach. He goes hard on both ends of the court and is a matchup nightmare for the defense. I had the opportunity to watch Dwayne as he is playing in a Fall Varsity league as a Freshman where his team is currently undefeated. Dwayne not only handles his own against the other varsity players he flat out dominates while on the court. He is a strong finisher at the rim and has a consistent jump shot. He also has very good speed for his size. He will be playing this fall for Dillard High School and they must feel like they hit the lottery to have this young man on their roster. Samford has already offered Dwayne with other colleges having interest. I expect that interest list to rapidly grown after the 21-22 season.
CHRISTIAN MAXON – 6’0 G – Fort Pierce Central High School – Christian will be a 4 year varsity starter and has an elite overall game. He has strong playmaking ability and is a consistent scorer. Christian helped lead his team to a Fall Varsity league championship by dropping 41 points connecting on a staggering 8 three pointers. Christian is a fun player to watch also plays hard on the defensive end while usually guarding the best player on the opposing team. Look for a big freshman season from this young man.
CHRISTOPHER MAXON – 6’0 G – Fort Pierce Central High School – Christopher is a dominant guard that can hurt you in a variety of ways. He has a very quick first step and lots of combination moves to get to the basket. He possess elite court vision and can read a defense a mile away. Christopher is a gym rat and his endless hours of work show up when the lights are on as his consistent shooting ability makes him one of the best players in his class. He can score points in a hurry and is the type of player that the other team must make adjustments on or it will be a long game for the competition.
Shon Abaev – 6’4 Wing – Miami Country Day High School – Shon is coming off a great summer playing up multiple levels during his travel season while playing against some of the best competition in the country. Shon is one of the best shooters in his class and can score at will. Shon has a long wingspan and is a solid defender. Shon already holds an offer from Florida Gulf Coast University and I expect his interest list to continue to increase given the huge upside to his overall game.
