After an unprecedented start to the 2020-2021 season, programs look to get back into their routine for the launch of the 2021-2022 campaign. Prep Hoops will be following along with the 11th and 12th Region top 4 finalists from last season.

2020-2021 Record
11-6 Regular Season
3-1 Postseason (Lost to Lincoln County in 12th Region Semi-Finals)
Prep Hoops spoke with Coach Fraley about his team. The 12th Region is loaded with program history, experience, talent, veteran coaches, and winning. The Maroons had a tough schedule last season with games against 10th Region Champion, George Rogers Clark, 11th Region Champion, Madison Central, and 13th Region Runner-Up, North Laurel. Coach Fraley knows that his team ultimately came up short of their goal to compete in the Sweet Sixteen, but believes his team culture, driven by the senior leadership, will be extra motivated to lead this year’s team. We preview a few returning players that are primed to make another jump in the 12th region this season. One player, Barek Williams Barek Williams 6'2" | CG Pulaski County | 2023 State KY , is ranked in our Prep Hoops Player Database. Don’t be surprised if a few other Maroons have breakout seasons.
Top Returner: Zack Travis, is ready for a dynamite senior campaign. Travis is coming off of a very productive spring and summer season with the Tennessee Bobcats. Every season Travis has played for the Maroons has been a steady increase in production in points, rebounds, and assists. Look for Travis to develop his scoring beyond the perimeter and tally more points from the free-throw line. Travis is a tough, physical guard that will be challenging match-ups for opponents. PH Staff will be watching Travis closely and expect his stock to rise as the season gets underway.
Top Defender: Caleb Sloan, can be described as the prototypical high school athlete. Nothing flashy but a hard-nosed worker that will sacrifice everything for his teammates. Sloan is the type of player that championship teams need to win the tough games. Sloan is a skilled forward that has improved his scoring efficiency at all three levels. Look for Sloan to use his athleticism to create havoc on the defensive end that will help the Maroons find easy offensive opportunities.
Breakout Player: Cayden Lancaster, is primed for a monster season. Lancaster played with Ky Future Elite for the spring and summer season notching several games as their leading scorer. He has an explosive leaping ability that will be something that the Maroons student section will love. Look for Lancaster to put it all together this season and be a major contributor on the court.
Players we will keep an eye on as the season unfolds:
- Barek Williams Barek Williams 6'2" | CG Pulaski County | 2023 State KY , top returning scorer but currently playing football. Williams also played with Ky Future Elite over the spring and summer season
- Gavin Stevens, transfer from Somerset that will give the Maroons length and a shot-blocking presence they lacked from last season’s roster
