Shot selection and learning to limit his dribbles are areas of improvement for Coulthard, but you can’t question the results a lot of the time. When the ball was in his hands on Saturday, eventually, something good usually happened. Playing for the Wisconsin Crusaders second time and a stacked Neenah program, Coulthard flies under the radar, but is definitely a college prospect. Coulthard was able to score in isolation settings, knocking down some tough shots. When he felt the defense collapsing, Coulthard made heady passes to open teammates. He operated well in the pick n’ roll, surveying the entire floor and often making the correct basketball play.

Sun Prairie West | 2023

– 2023 – SG – Sun Prairie
A big, strong, and fast guard, Chestnut can really move in the open floor. The Sun Prairie junior gets downhill and attacks the bucket at top end speed. A player that started to flash towards the end of the summer, Chestnut appears to be getting better in a hurry. At 6-foot-3 paired with a strong frame, Chestnut has really good size and athleticism. If he can add a consistent jump shot to his arsenal, Chestnut is going to be a handful to defend.

– 2023 – SF – La Crosse Central
If he keeps working, Fried is going to be next to impossible to match up with over the next two years. The 6-foot-6 wing has range, length, ball skills, an inside-out scoring package. A lanky prospect with a lot of room to grow physically, Fried is a tough matchup with his sniper-like ability from 3-point range as well as his ability to put the ball on the deck and slash to the bucket. Needs to get bigger and stronger, but Fried doesn’t need to always finish at the rim. He’s got some pretty good awareness to feel help-side defenders rotating over and often is able to drop off passes for easy buckets.

– 2023 – F – Appleton East
His brother was the unofficial MVP of the camp a few years ago. Glaser certainly made a good case on Saturday. Glaser is getting better and better and taking noticeable steps forward. His footwork in the post looks really good. Glaser can get to his secondary moves with a jump stop, reverse pivot. The 6-foot-6 combo forward has some budding mismatch nightmare potential with his ability to handle the ball on the perimeter and take bigs off the dribble. He plays with an edge defensively as well. He’s not afraid to challenge people at the rim and set a tone with a hard foul if needed. The Patriots have quite a few seniors back this fall, but think Glaser is going to surprise some people in the Fox Valley Association.

Ahrman Lewis – 2023 – PG – Madison La Follette
Lewis was supposed to have his coming out party in the Big Eight last year, but the Lancers didn’t have a season due to the pandemic. The speedy, uptempo guard very well could lead La Follette to a league title as a junior with the talent he’ll have around him. Lewis just plays at a different pace. He’s got the ball on the string, can operate at top end speed, and puts a ton of pressure on a defense with his downhill, attacking, and aggressive mindet. With Lewis’ speed, he becomes very difficult to contain when he counters with a step-back jumper. He’ll get defenders leaning hard into the paint and is able to generate a ton of space. Thought Lewis was pretty unselfish on Saturday as well. Certainly capable of exploding offensively, but he made sound decisions when he got into the paint and found his teammates for open looks.

Prey just knows how to play ball. May not pass the eye test in terms of what you think a top-notch guard looks/plays like, but the results speak for themselves. Prey is a high-IQ prospect that can play on or off the ball. He has a strong understanding of how he’s being defended and is capable of taking what a defense gives him. Maybe not a guy that does any one particular thing at an elite level, but Prey is very well-rounded and doesn’t have glaring weaknesses either. Prey is capable of playing the point and being a primary decision maker. Off the ball, he’ll knock down shots from the outside at a high percentage. Has always been a very good teammate as well. Guys like playing with him, because he’s unselfish and makes others better.

Alex Sherwood

Xavier | 2023

WI
– 2023 – SF – Xavier
The Xavier standout continues to play consistently at a very high level. Some guys get success early and tend to level off. Sherwood has definitely not been that guy as the 6-foot-6 swingman continues to push for new heights. A knockdown shooter, Sherwood has improved his ability off the dribble, now able to size guys up and create rhythm jumpers off the bounce. He’s always run the floor hard and made sure to rack up easy points in transition. A three-level and versatile scorer, Sherwood can take guys down into the post and score through, over, and around defenders. With his length and lateral quickness on the perimeter, Sherwood can defend multiple positions as well.

Max Tutas – 2023 – G – Sheboygan North
Just a guy that always seems to be in the right place at the right time, Tutas has a knack for making plays. He’s an all-around prospect. Might not do anything at an elite level, but doesn’t have glaring holes in his game either. The biggest thing that jumped out on Saturday was Tutas’ defense. He’s a very smart defender who plays excellent help-side basketball. Whether it was rotating to a new man after somebody else got beat or noticing a ball handler turn his back and coming over for a double team, Tutas created a handful of turnovers. Offensively, Tutas can shoot the ball from the outside. The 6-foot-2 guard has very good footwork when he dribbles into the paint and needs to navigate through traffic. He cansl also post up well for a guard and take advantage of some matchup opportunities down low as well. Tutas is unselfish too. He’ll give up his own good looks if it means a teammate gets a great one.
William Whorton

Whorton

Milwaukee King | 2023
State
WI
– 2023 – F – Milwaukee King
Whorton still has a long way to go, but he’s clearly grinding and chipping away at his high ceiling, which is why two Division 1 programs have already offered. The 6-foot-8 forward is very raw, but has come such a long way over the last six months. At the start of the spring, Whorton could barely dribble the ball. Now, he’s bringing it up the floor and pulling up from 3-point range when he feels like it. At his bottom, Whorton is a high-level athlete that dunks everything around the rim and provides an excellent shot blocking presence. He’ll play with a motor on the offensive glass as well. If those skills keep developing, Whorton’s stock is only going to rise with it.
