Check out my analysis from some of the standout wings of the 2022 class that were on full display during the 2021 Prep Hoops Louisiana Top 250 Expo. I got a hands-on look at all of these high-level athletes. Look for their stock to continue to rise after some very impressive performances!
2022- Livonia High School
Treylin is a jaw-dropping athlete, his leaping ability shut down the gym a few times with his resounding blocks. I love his aggressiveness on the defensive end, he has no fear of being the help defender and loves chasing down his opponents on the fast break. He has a good handle for his size which he uses to get downhill with ease. Opponents were scared to leap with him in this setting. He is also a very good shooter when given time to set up, he displayed an ability to knock down shots in the corners and along the wings. His jumper looks very professional with a high release which does not allow defenders a good chance of contesting it. To continue his growth, I would like to see him work on his midrange and pull-up jumper.
2022- St. Thomas More High School, Lafayette
Christian is a patient wing with an impressive jump shot. He was able to knock down shots all around the arc, and even displayed his ability to put the ball on the floor and attack the rim. He is a strong post scorer when matched up against smaller wings and even has an impressive baby hook. He is a great passer of the ball after a rebound, his outlet passes created multiple fast break opportunities for his team. I would like to see him work on his foot speed, ability to knock down shots off the dribble in the midrange and becoming a stronger defender to better defend positions 1-4. His foot speed and frame already allow him to defend 1-3 with good results.
2022- Northlake Christian High School
Tony is an intelligent wing who plays hard every second he steps on the court. He attacks the rim every well, with and without the ball. He always seemed to be in the mix for a loose ball or long rebound. His leaping ability was very impressive, it looked like he was skying toward the rim with ease. I was impressed with his off-ball awareness and willingness to move. He knows how to set himself up for open shots and easy opportunities because of his movement. I would like to see him work on his ability to hit shots off a live dribble, and more willing to take a one to two dribble pull-up in the midrange.
2022- East St. John High School
Bryce is a dynamic athlete with an impressive pairing of explosion and length. He is a very impressive dunker, not afraid of bigger defenders coming over to protect the rim. I would like to see him work on his ability to finish around the rim with his off hand. He is a good all-around player, he plays hard on both ends of the floor coming up with steals and blocks. I would like to see him work on his ability to handle the ball and create his own space off the dribble.
2022- Wossman High School
Albert is a very strong finisher in the paint, his frame and ability to finish in the paint made him an effective player this weekend. He is very active on both ends of the glass. He is also very good at moving without the ball and finding a weak spot in this defense and making the right decisions in the midrange. He can shoot the ball well off the catch as well.
