Kaleb Brown Kaleb Brown 6'3" | SG King's Fork | 2023 VA | 6’2” CG | King’s Fork ’23
Brown will come out of the shadow of Jayden Epps this year and show that he’s able to score the basketball as well as anyone, especially from deep. He’s a strong guard that can come off of screens and sets his feet quickly, he has a quick release and is very consistent from deep when he gets good looks. He can play both on and off the basketball and once he gets it going he’s a nightmare for defenders.
Sam Brannen | 6’0” CG | King’s Fork ’23
Brannen will be joining Brown at King’s Fork this year after his last few years at Norfolk Collegiate, and the duo will become one of the deadliest backcourts in the 757. A highly skilled and cerebral player, Brannen is one of the most efficient shooters who can knock it down consistently with range and knows how to get open whether he’s on or off the ball. He takes good shots and shoots it at a very high percentage, making each attempt count.
Stylz Gardner Stylz Gardner 5'11" | CG Peninsula Catholic | 2023 State VA | 6’0” CG | Peninsula Catholic ’23
Gardner has been on a tear over the last year and is one of the most skilled scoring guards in the 757. He plays with a swagger to him and whether he’s on or off the basketball, he’s able to work hard to get open and he has a quick release allowing him to make shots with little to no room. He gets hot quickly and has a knack for making big shots when his team needs him to.
MJ Smith MJ Smith 6'2" | SG Manor | 2023 VA | 6’1” WG | Manor ’23
Smith is a player that has been one of the top scorers in Portsmouth the past few years, and coaches are starting to recognize as he continues to get better and better. He’s a natural two guard who has deep range and a quick release, he can fill it up in bunches when he gets it going and he’s absolutely deadly from behind the arc. He can shoot it off the catch and off the bounce, and he will let it fly and is still very efficient from deep.
CJ McPherson CJ McPherson 6'3" | SG Norfolk Collegiate | 2023 State VA | 6’3” WG | Norfolk Collegiate ’23
McPherson is a fast rising prospect in the 757 after reclassifying to the 2023 class and he was on a tear this summer with Team Loaded 757. A strong two guard that can fill it up in bunches, McPherson is an excellent shooter from deep who can make shots on the move or on kick-outs and is improving in his ability to attack closeouts and score in the paint too. He’s efficient from deep and works well off the ball to get open, and he’ll make you pay if you fall asleep defensively.
Dershon Ormon Dershon Ormon 6'3" | SG Kecoughtan | 2023 State VA | 6’1” WG | Denbigh ‘23
Ormon isn’t the most well known guy on this list, but when I tell you he can absolutely light it up and has done it consistently the past few years I mean it! He’s very smart and understands spacing, and knows how to drift with the ball and relocate to get open and when he does he has a quick release and buries it with consistency. He’s the type of kid you may not expect at first but you look down and he’s hit 6 threes in a half and is just getting started.
