Talent Over Hype All-American Camp: Class of 2028 Standouts

Mike Lee and his crew did a great job of getting some of the top up and coming talent from Florida and surrounding states in Daytona this weekend for the Talent Over Hype All-American Camp. Now that it is over, it is time to take a look at some of the top individual standouts from each respective age group. Today we take a look at some of the top performers from the 6th grade division…

John Arroyo | Class of 2028

At first I thought Arroyo was going to be a role guy for his team this past weekend at the Talent Over Hype All-American Camp but that was quickly proven wrong as he turned out to be a leader for his team. He is a solid lead guard that has a good understanding of what needs to be done to lead his team on each possession. He was dishing the ball nicely to his teammates but can also score when needed and can score in bunches if he gets hot. Arroyo has good speed and quickness that was also on display.

Camden Cooper | Class of 2028

One of the more prolific scorers from the entire camp, Cooper led the 6th grade division in scoring at the Talent Over Hype All-American Camp. Cooper is looking to be on path to be a very skilled player from the state of Florida as there was little to no one that could slow him down this past weekend. Cooper has really good length already standing at 5’9. He can shoot the ball from all over and demonstrated throughout the entire weekend in Daytona. The amount of upside Cooper has is scary given his size and length already as a 6th grader and with his brother being 6’6.

Enzo Lee | Class of 2028

Prep Hoops Next first saw Lee earlier this winter and the progression he has made since then is quite noticeable. Lee has elite handles that help put him above his peers in the skill department. There were not many people at the Talent Over Hype All-American Camp that could check him because of his offensive skill set and we only expect that to continue as he gets older. It will be important for Lee to continue to learn to make the right decisions as a lead guard as he projects as one of the best we have seen so far in the 2028 class.

Honour Mays | Class of 2028

Mays was by far one of the hardest playing players I saw all weekend regardless of age. Mays is a complete two way impact player that will get done whatever is needed of his team. The first thing that stood out to me was his defense as he is willing to play on that end during each possession but he can get it going offensively too by either getting past defenders with his dribble, leading the ball out in transition or dishing to teammates. Expect to hear more from Mays as he continues to progress and get older in age.

Ethan Vahl | Class of 2028

I had heard a little about Vahl before the Talent Over Hype All-American Camp and he backed up the talk that was said about him. The first thing that stands out is his size as he towered over most of his competition. Vahl was impacting the game at a high level on both ends of the floor and dominating to say the least. One of the top highlights from the camp was Vahl hitting a half-court buzzer beater in one particular game.
