PrepHoopsTN Combine Evaluations: Part V
In this article:
The annual @PrepHoopsTN Summer Combine featured nearly 50 aspiring college prospects. For the rest of July we will be featuring the campers with evaluations and measurements from the day.
Look for the next combine in September of 2021, this time in middle Tennessee!

Joltin is very, very thin for a college aspirant. His long, spindly arms do beautifully sling shots up towards the rim. Harrison showed off a quick, smooth shooting motion during the Summer Combine, particularly during his drill with Coach Dess Culpepper. Coach Cullpepper worked on attacking from the top of the key. Joltin was fluid shooting off a single dribble to either side. He looked more comfortable getting into his motion when taking that dribble to his left.
Formerly of Sullivan Central High School, Joltin Harrison Joltin Harrison 6'2" | SG Volunteer | 2023 State TN now joins Volunteer High finished 2020-2021 with 12 wins, many of them early in the season. The 2020-2021 Falcons likely considered their marquee wins the December 1 victory over Elizabethton or the three wins over Tennessee High in the final month. The dozen wins marked VHS’ most since 2007. The PrepHoopsTN Summer Combine hosted three current Volunteer Falcons: Joltin, Bradin Minton Bradin Minton 6'2" | PG Volunteer | 2023 State TN , Andrew Knittel Andrew Knittel 6'3" | SG Volunteer | 2023 State TN .
Jolton lists himself as a shooting guard and the off-guard aspect was prevalent, but in order to make himself more marketable to an NAIA program, Joltin will absolutely need to more further display his ball-handling prowess. At 6-foot-2, there are spots beyond high school for “non-point guards” though they are less common. Also, Joltin really needs to gain weight in order to endure the constant beating of elite high school basketball.
Defensively, Joltin closed out too high on shooters. He needed to and needs to get in a lower stance to enable him to move laterally and react more effectively. Offensively, Joltin used his lower body very well. He was able to create some separation with a fledgling step-back move. For Joltin Harrison Joltin Harrison 6'2" | SG Volunteer | 2023 State TN the shooting from range and off-the-dribble jump off the page as marketable skills.

Dewberry gleefully competed young men 2-3 years his senior. The passion for the game is deep within Imari. After every weekend, he cuts his own highlight videos and does the hype game properly while putting in the work offline to be better and develop.
That Lane Agility time is not a very good measurement. We only recorded a single time on Imari and no weight should be attached to this possibly spurious read. Imari is a quick guard, quick enough to run with the upperclassmen and he easily kept up with the pace of play.
Skills in need of improvement: Outside shooting, finishing with the off-hand, improving mid-range consistency off the dribble.
Fearless with the ball. For the next couple years ID should work to improve his operation away from the basketball. Sure, eventually Dewberry projects as a lead guard. Still, it hurts no guards to embrace moving off the ball and hunting spots and pockets within which to succeed should a pass come their way.
Imari is off to a great start as a hooper. The passion is high. The commitment is high. The pursuit of a dream requires more than a dream and Imari features the intangibles all coaches want.
