Ulysses Young Ulysses Young 6'0" | CG Oscar Smith | 2024 State VA | 6’0” | Oscar Smith
Young is the next guard in a Smith program that has produced a lot of talented guards in the past, and he has some great players to learn from moving forward as well. He has pretty good size and is likely still growing, he’s shifty off the bounce and lives in the lane and he can make plays for others with ease. He has a good feel and IQ, he can score it in bunches and he brings it on both ends.
Jonavan Coles Jonavan Coles 5'11" | PG Chatham | 2024 State VA | 5’11” | Chatham
Coles is a very intriguing guard out of a small area in Chatham that made waves this summer playing up with Warriors TBT 16U group. He’s in the midst of a growth spurt and almost at 6’0” now, he’s dynamic and athletic in the open floor and he can make shots from deep and in the midrange. As he’s been growing into his body he’s become very athletic and explosive when he gets downhill, and he has a killer mindset on both ends of the floors.
Kennard Wyche Jr. | 5’5” | Varina
Wyche Jr. showed at the CBG events last season that he’s one of the top young guards in the Richmond area, and he continued that with a good summer playing up on the VA Havoc 16U group. He’s a smaller guard but he’s skilled and cerebral off the bounce, making the right plays consistently and setting the tone on both ends of the floor. He hounds the basketball defensively, he’s a good playmaker and he can stick it from deep consistently.
Alex Chaikin | 5’11” | Trinity Episcopal
Chaikin will head to TES after spending last year at Jamestown and will reclassify to the 2024 class, where he’ll have more time to work on his body and his game. The 5’11” combo guard is savvy and skilled, and has shown that he can score it in bunches and in a number of different ways. He can shoot the lights out from deep, he is crafty in the lane as a finisher and he’s always in the right place at the right time.
Nyshon Claude Nyshon Claude 6'0" | CG King's Fork | 2024 State VA | 6’0” | King’s Fork
Claude is part of a talented young group at KF that will help keep the Bulldogs as one of the top programs in the 757. A strong and physical guard, Claude is a blue collar guy who does the dirty work on both ends of the floor and can mix it up inside with the bigs. He’s very physical and rebounds well on both ends, he’s shifty and surprisingly quick off the bounce and he’s very good at finishing through contact when he gets downhill.
