Laydon Fields 6’0″ Green City: A Class 1 small-school standout who showed why he is such a big scorer back home during the winter. He is very stout and physically strong and he loves to attack the basket whenever possible. Although he isn’t very tall, he knows how to use his body inside while also working the angles to get buckets against bigger defenders. He’s a very resourceful offensive player.
Landon Engelage 6’3″ Holt: A 2022 guard who displayed his fine all-around play at both ends of the court. He’s a natural shooting guard with his size and skill level, but he also has the instincts and basketball IQ to play like a point guard. He shares the ball with his teammates and makes the right play on a consistent basis. He is a solid rebounder.
Milenko Stukelja 6’7″ St. Paul Lutheran: An impressive 2022 forward who I had my first look at and liked what I saw from him. He is a prototype Stretch 4 who can step out and hit 3-pointers consistently. He’s the ideal pick and pop player. He has good passing skills with excellent mobility. He can also make it happen off the dribble and score in the paint with solid footwork and a nice shooting touch.
Torrey Davie 5’11″ Lift for Life: A 2022 point guard who plays a very solid game. He has good quickness and he makes good decisions with the basketball. He’s a coach’s son, so he understands how to play the game and help organize his team, even in a showcase setting. He was also a willing defender who put up a very good effort at that end.
Ben McMullan Ben McMullan 6'2" | SG Kennett | 2022 State MO 6’2″ Kennett: A 2022 shooting guard who is solidly built and knows how to play the game. He showcased his nice stroke from 3-point range off the catch as he moved well without the ball to get himself open. He can also use his strength to create some space to get in the lane for scoring opportunities.
Carson Noel 6’3″ Kickapoo: A 2022 wing player who is physically strong and proved to be a resourceful offensive player I the game that I watched him. He got buckets off the drive and off the the ball cuts, plus he made a number of good hustle plays for his team.
Josh McMillen Josh McMillen 5'11" | PG Marion C. Early | 2022 MO 5’10″ Marion C. Early: A 2022 guard who can really shoot the basketball and he displayed it on a number of occasions during the event. He also has a nice one-dribble pull-up in the middle area. He has solid ball fakes and can set up his defender to beat him off the dribble.
Jace Stanton 6’1″ Warrensburg: A 2023 guard who plays with a lot of activity and hustle at both ends. When he got the ball, he looked to get downhill on the dribble and he didn’t mind the contact. He was constantly moving and making plays as a result. There’s no substitute for hustle and having a motor.
