Few athletes are able to make it all the way to the college level and it is an honor and tough journey to be able to say you were part of a collegiate athletic program in any division. A lot of great players from the state have gone on to make waves at the college level and now it is time to see who else will join that rank of players. Continue reading for a look at some of the top college commitments from the class of 2021 in the state of Idaho.
Taden King Taden King 6'4" | PG Madison | 2021 State ID , North Idaho College: King will make the transition from the eastern part of Idaho to the northern part as he joins a highly talented NIC team. The lefty is a matchup nightmare who can shoot from outside, inside, and anywhere in between. He plays the game with a sense of composure and never seems to be sped up by opposing teams and defenders. King has a high basketball IQ and he should make a big impact early on at the next level of competition. Watch for King to expand his skills and abilities for the next two seasons before finding a spot at a four-year school to truly assert his dominance.
Straton Rogers Straton Rogers 6'3" | SF Rocky Mountain | 2020 State ID , College of Idaho: Rogers will be a member of an Idaho-stacked C of I team that loves their homegrown players. Rogers had a solid prep career at the University of Rocky Mountain High School where he did a lot of damage in the paint. His touch around the rim and footwork made him a tough cover for bigger and slower post players, and he simply overpowered smaller guards in the post. Rogers has been working to expand his shooting ability and will look to shoot more threes during his college career. Straton will be a great fit for College of Idaho and their love for Idaho high school basketball players.
