Malachi Dooley Malachi Dooley 5'11" | PG Habersham Central | 2022 State GA , 5-10, PG, 2022, Habersham Central
In my view the day’s top performer without much debate, was simply unstoppable in spurts with his impressive burst off the bounce and ability to push pace at a high rate, love the 3-point stroke to keep defenses honest but one on one in the open floor there was no match for him, my first real close look at him and he was everything I’d heard and more, teams with underrated 2022 transfer Mehki Mawdesley both with BCB and up at HCHS to form a devastating backcourt combo, an absolute steal for a next-level program Dooley can easily slip into a higher stratosphere recruiting wise with continued play at this high a level.
Charlie Reisman Charlie Reisman 6'2" | CG Gainesville | 2023 State GA , 6-2, CG, 2023, Gainesville
Other than Dooley perhaps no one had me scribbling in my book more than Reisman, his departed brother Rob left a hole in the Red Elephant lineup but it looks like the younger Reisman will fill it more than ably, I’ve seen him in spurts with the T-Wolves but after a close examination up at UNG he has special upside, there wasn’t a shot using the dribble or off the catch that he couldn’t get or knockdown, his creativity driving it was at the near-unstoppable level when he gets a head of steam, he can play 3 spots and didn’t look overmatched switching to a frontcourt role for an undersized GHS bunch as he’s got a stout frame and tons of fight, can skyrocket up rankings boards over the next year.
Maalik Leitch, 6-1, PG, 2022, South Gwinnett
Have caught SGHS’s act a couple of times recently and the athleticism on the squad is impressive, alongside 2023 stud guard Jet Horne Jet Horne 5'10" | PG South Gwinnett | 2023 State GA is the exciting Leitch, loved his game with Norcross Heat earlier in the year and it hasn’t skipped a beat as he can explode on defenses with a flurry of points from all levels, the quickness rivaled Habersham’s Dooley and against a big and physical Buford team Leitch showed no backdown as expected, love the on-ball defense and vocal leadership, like Dooley can be a steal for a next-level program that does its homework and put their spotlight on him.
Chance Thacker Chance Thacker 6'4" | SG Providence | 2022 State GA , 6-5, CG, 2022, Providence Christian
Combines with 6-9 forward and fellow 2022 Tony Carpio Tony Carpio 6'7" | PF Providence | 2022 State GA to form as good an inside-out duo as you’ll find anywhere in the ATL-Metro, Carpio has come as far as anyone in the last year to establish himself as a top power forward prospect with the relentless rebounding and expanded offensive package near the basket, Thacker too has taken his game to the next level as he built up his frame to resemble more of a strong safety, he’s perfectly comfortable handling the point and at his size makes for serious matchup problems when he gets downhill, but it’s the consistency in his deep shooting which has rounded out this highly effective package and with his willingness to take the big shot and be a leader it’s been fun to see the incredible development into a sure-fire D1 level player.
Karris Bilal Karris Bilal 6'2" | PG Riverwood | 2024 State #243 Nation GA , 6-2, PG, 2024, Riverwood
So smooth and polished he’s got a game that travels so well to any camp or tournament, scary to think where he’ll be two summers from now because he does so much so well right now, advanced handle as a lead guard and physical enough to handle bigger players, can slide to the 2 and knock down the J from just about anywhere 25 feet and in, he can make you look foolish on the dribble drive if you body him up too closely, just has it all and the look of a high major prospect on the come.
