Lot’s of upside, talent, athleticism, and opportunity for this group listed below as well as the rest of the 2023 class. We will be looking at the wings first.
Ryan Roberson, 6’5, Blue Valley Northwest, Nebraska Supreme UAA: A high upside athletic wing who will have the opportunity to really make noise on the summer circuit and next high school season. Plenty of opportunities will arise at BVNW next year and Roberson has the talent to really make a massive impact. With Nebraska Supreme he has given the Under Armor group an athletic wing who can get out in transition, finish plays at a high clip, and defend multiple positions.
Kamryn Kaniper Kamryn Kaniper 6'4" | SF Silver Lake | 2023 State KS , 6’5, Silver Lake, SSA Elite 2023 Black: The long, active, and athletic wing had a stat stuffing, eye popping spring on the grassroots scene, even filling in up a grade on occasion and holding his own. A streaky deep shooter who can get hot from beyond the arc, not afraid to try and dunk the ball in traffic, and is an offensive rebounding machine. On the defensive end he takes chances but it leads to a tone of impact blocks and steals. Look out for a big summer here.
Jack Voth Jack Voth 6'6" | PF J.T. Hoggard | 2023 State NC , 6’4, Buhler, Team Buddy Buckets KS: Voth will gain a huge new role with Buhler next year, picking up much more of the scoring load, but he has shown growth this spring and moved up our board in the rankings, deservedly so. Versatile, able to fill in roles as a guard or play a stretch four, Voth should be in line for a really solid summer run on the grassroots circuit.
Will Rost Will Rost 6'3" | SG Aquinas | 2023 State KS , 6’4, St Thomas Aquinas, Drive 5: One of the premier shooters in the Kansas class of 2023, Rost showed in the spring his growth in his all around game. Really tough on both ends of the floor, increased his handling and playmaking ability. The 2023 Drive 5 group was really fun to watch this spring, and I am expecting Rost and that crew to continue to play at a high level this summer.
Caleb Brown Caleb Brown 6'3" | SF Derby | 2023 State KS , 6’3, Derby, Buddy Buckets (Pictured): A top tier defensive wing in this 2023 class. His lock down ability on the ball, plugging the gaps in help, jumping lanes, and causing turnovers will have eyes turning this summer. An aggressive player on both ends of the floor with athleticism. A wing with a ton of upside and playing in great programs in Buddy Buckets and Derby to help grow his game. Can make plays attacking in transition and in the half court with the ball in his hands and I think he can be a lethal cutter and finisher.
