Treyson Anderson – 2024 Forward – Pius X
Pius is absolutely spoiled with length and forward depth this year. This sophomore forward is going to make some noise starting this year for them. In the two games of his I watched, he wasn’t afraid to let it fly from three and hit them at a good clip. He was very confident in his shot and also had some nice downhill drives to the hoop where he finished through contact. Watch for a steady rise from him over the coming years.
Wade Voss Wade Voss 6'5" | PF Lincoln Southeast | 2023 State NE – 2023 Forward – Lincoln Southeast
Voss had a great showing against Pius in the first game of the day. He was able to bang down low with all their bigs and had some strong finishes. Once he gets going he can light it up from distance and had two rim-rattling slams. Word around the city is that he is destined for a breakout year this season. Will be a great leader for Southeast this year.
Jack Hastreiter Jack Hastreiter 6'6" | PF Lincoln Pius | 2022 State NE – 2022 Forward – Lincoln Pius X
There were times where it was evident that Jack was the best player on the floor. Every jump shot he put up seemed like it was going in and there was nothing the defender in front of him could do about it. He also crashed the glass hard for extra opportunities and seemed to get a tipped ball every possession on defense. I knew he was a great player but the confidence I saw today was scary, he just seemed on another level than from the previous times I’d watched him play.
Bhan Buom – 2024 Guard – Lincoln Southwest
At 6’6, Buom will most likely be guarding opposing big men in the state but his natural position is as a guard. I watched him slice up defenses all morning and his handle got him to the hoop at will. Once he got there he had acrobatic finishes or would get fouled. He didn’t shoot it too well from three but his jumper is clean and in the system he plays in, he will put up a good amount of threes. I have him pegged as a rising star and once he puts it all together he will be very tough to stop.
Antallah Sandlin-El Antallah Sandlin-El 6'7" | PF Lincoln North Star | 2023 State NE – 2023 Big – Lincoln Northstar
I got my first chance to check out this versatile big man from North Star and he did not disappoint. Against Southwest, he spearheaded a 15+ point comeback in the second half by banging down low and nailing a few threes. In the post, he is incredibly physical and has great hands when he’s rolling towards the hoop. His jump shot cannot be blocked and this inside-out game is what makes him so tantalizing as a prospect. Between him, Kajaun Sidney, and KG Gatwech, North Star has a solid young core that will make some noise down the road.
