Louie Semona Louie Semona 6'7" | PF St Xavier | 2022 State OH , 6’7 PF St Xavier 2022 Midwest Basketball Club Gold: Semona is the highest rated player that didn’t appear in our last set of rankings. I watched Semona play well against Huber Heights Wayne in a district championship and then continue his impressive performances on the travel ball scene with Midwest Basketball Club Gold. Semona is a modern day power forward, who can space the floor and moves well on the perimeter. Semona is very productive and could see his recruitment explode as the main guy on St X next season.
Drey Carter Drey Carter 6'8" | PF Westerville South | 2022 State OH , 6’7 PF Westerville South 2022 Nova Village-Reese: When you think of a stretch 4, Carter is basically the exact player you imagine. Carter is a lights out shooter at 6’7. Carter has shown some improved flashes on-ball, but is mostly a catch and shoot offensive player. Carter really meshes well with the post players on Nova when they get doubled on the interior. Carter knows his role and has some long term upside if he continues to improve in the weight room.
Sean Craig Sean Craig 6'6" | PF Sylvania Northview | 2022 State OH , 6’7 PF Northview 2022 Bates Fundamentals Red: Craig seems to fly under the radar in Ohio, being right on the Michigan border in Sylvania but Craig was a first team all state selection in Division I last season. Craig just produces whenever I watch him play. Another stretch power forward, Craig isn’t as good of a shooter as Carter but has more of an interior presence. Craig’s feel for the game is obvious as he scores from set plays consistently drawn up by his coaches.
Jacob Pleiman Jacob Pleiman 6'6" | PF Botkins | 2022 State OH , 6’6 PF Botkins 2022 Mid Ohio Pumas Gold: Pleiman had a big state championship weekend, leading Botkins to a state title in division IV with impressive victories over Richmond Heights and Columbus Grove. Pleiman does the little things that help you win games, boxing out and getting lots of loose balls. I love his toughness. Pleiman is a little limited with the ball in his hands, but he did show some extended range for the Pumas this summer that I didn’t know he was capable of. I’ll imagine the intangibles Pleiman brings to the court will make him a favorite for college coaches in the 2022 class.
Mason Weisbrodt Mason Weisbrodt 6'8" | C Batavia | 2022 State OH , 6’8 PF Batavia 2022 Shining Star Price: I’ve talked about Weisbrodt pretty extensively in the past couple months but wanted to make sure he got some love after our updated rankings so readers understood where I landed on him as a prospect. A scholarship level big man who is capable of playing either the 4 or the 5 at the next level.
Aidan King Aidan King 6'7" | PF Olentangy Orange | 2022 State OH , 6’7 PF Olentangy Orange 2022 Mid Ohio Pumas Price: Mid Ohio Pumas Price was one of my favorite teams to watch this spring as their team shares the ball exceptionally well. King is a key piece on that team with his floor spacing ability from the PF position. King looks more confident than I saw during the HS season on both ends, playing up to his height on the interior defensively. The OCC division that Olentangy Orange is in with Hillard Bradley, Hilliard Davidson, Olentangy Liberty, Dublin Coffman and Upper Arlington should be heavily watched by Division II/NAIA and Division III programs in Ohio. College prospects at every level in that conference from the senior class. Competitive games throughout, Ohio HS basketball at its best in that league.
