The best scorers are consistent and score from all 3 levels. The elite scorers make their money at the free-throw line. In this article, we are looking at the guys that could potentially score the most points next season. The top prospects or ranked players may not make the list. If a player does not make the list it could be because he is on a balanced team or they might not get as many touches as another player. Below we will look at 2 players in Class A and B from 2022, 2023, and 2024 classes.
Top Scorers 2022’s
Class A
Treysen Eaglestaff Treysen Eaglestaff 6'5" | SF Bismark | 2022 State ND |6-5 F| Bismarck/D1 Minnesota – He is the cream of the crop when it comes to offensive basketball. Trey is a fun player to watch on the offensive side of the ball. His feel for the game is unmatched. The Demons will graduate a good amount of scoring this year. Next year this will be his team, and Trey will lead them to the promised land. Look for him to put up eye-opening numbers.
Carson Hegerle Carson Hegerle 6'3" | SG West Fargo | 2022 State ND |6-3 G| West Fargo – Nobody will be able to match his explosiveness, size, and determination. Carson can score fast and furious. When he gets going downhill, there is no stopping him. He is a human highlight reel at times. The Packers graduated plenty of scoring. If Carson wants it, he can have it. Hegerle will be a scoring machine next season.
Class B
Ethan Morin Ethan Morin 6'2" | SG Dunseith | 2022 State ND |6-2 G| Dunseith – A cold-stone scorer. I love his mentality. Morin is always in “attack mode”. He takes buckets however the defense will give them. Ethan can drill it from deep or put in finger-rolls in transition. He can do everything in between. I will not be surprised if he averages in the high 20’s or low 30’s per game next season.
Zach Hendrickson Zach Hendrickson 6'0" | PG Our Redeemer's | 2022 State ND |6-0 G| Our Redeemer’s/ECI Selects – He has one of the best jump shots in North Dakota. Zach has a great mid-range pull-up, and he can also pull up from deep. His elevation and shooting form is spot-on. Zach has good feet and great hands. He will be expected to lead his team in scoring, and he will have the ball in his hands for most of the games.
Top Scorers 2023’s
Class A
Alex Dvorak Alex Dvorak 6'1" | PG Dickinson | 2023 State ND |6-0 G| Dickinson/ND Attack – He is no stranger to putting up big points and having the rock in his hands. Alex is quick and shifty. He can pull up on a dime and blow by the D on the bounce. He will get his fair share of shots this coming year. I will not be surprised if he challenges Eaglestaff for the top scorer next year.
Anthony Doppler Anthony Doppler 6'4" | SG Bismarck Century | 2023 State ND |6-3 G| Bismarck Century/ND Phenom – A big, long, and superior athlete. Some serious shooters will graduate this year for the Patriots. That means more shots for Doppler. Expect him to put up impressive numbers and for him to have a breakout year in the WDA.
Class B
Tyson Enget Tyson Enget 5'11" | PG Powers Lake-Burke Central | 2023 State ND |5-11 G| Powers Lake – A shooter and pure scorer. Noah Fredrickson Noah Fredrickson 6'0" | SG Powers Lake | 2021 State ND graduates for the Ranchers. This will leave a big void in the scoring for Powers Lake. Tyson was already putting up good numbers. Next season he will need to step up and be ferocious on the offensive end.
Mitchell Leas Mitchell Leas 6'0" | PG Rolla | 2023 State ND |6-0 G| Rolla – A crafty guard with a nice stroke. Leas will have the go-ahead to shoot when he is comfortable. I expect that to be early and often. This will be a good thing for Rolla. Mitchell is a great basketball player with a high IQ. Look for him to put up huge numbers in the coming season.
Top Scorers 2024’s
Class A
Jeremiah Sem Jeremiah Sem 6'3" | SG Fargo North | 2024 State #303 Nation ND |6-1 G| Fargo North/ECI Prospects – Potentially the best player in the state. He will score big in every game if he wants to. Sem is too good of an athlete to not be an elite scorer. When you add in his skill and feel for the game, he is impossible to stop with only 1 defender.
Isaiah Schafer Isaiah Schafer 6'1" | CG Bismarck Century | 2024 State ND |6-1 G| Bismarck Century/ECI Prospects – He will play on a super talented and young Patriot team next year. Shots and touches will be limited. However, there will be few sophomores that will play as many minutes as him in Class A. Isaiah is an all-around player with moxie. He will get his, but he will also make his teammates better. His scoring ability and confidence will be improved after the AAU season.
Class B
Deng Deng Deng Deng 6'5" | SF Four Winds/Minnewaukan | 2024 ND |6-4 G| Four Winds Minnewaukan – A gifted and special athlete. The Indians play an up-tempo in your face style. Deng will score buckets in a hurry off turnovers and because of the pace they play at. He can also hit the outside shot. Look for this young stud athlete to be dunking all over Class B next season.
Carson Haerer Carson Haerer 6'0" | PG Bottineau | 2024 State ND |5-11 G| Bottineau/ND Attack – A lights out shooter that will have the green light anytime he gets a breath of fresh air. Carson will have the ball in his hands a ton. He will have plenty of chances to put up big points. Look out for this young sharpshooter. Haerer can also get it done at the charity stripe.
