It also showcased several high-caliber wing players, In this article, we take a look at the top Wings from the event.
Jayden Washington Jayden Washington 6'5" | PF Eaglecrest | 2022 State CO 6’5 SF Colorado Anarchy 2022 (#36PHCO 2022) – Washington is a long rangy wing that showed good ball skills. He was able to get to the basket off the dribble, knifing through defenders on his way to the cup. He was active on the defensive end using his wing span to deflect and change the angle of passes.
Mostapha Elmoutaouakkil Mostapha Elmoutaouakkil 6'4" | SF Eaglecrest | 2022 State CO 6’5 SF The Force 2022 – Elmountaokii was a revelation. He played consistently well throughout the weekend. He displayed a nice wiggle, getting to the cup off the bounce. He showed good vision and some nice point forward skills while making plays for his teammates.
Justin Shorts Justin Shorts 6'3" | SF Glenview Prep | 2022 State AZ 6’3 SF Westside Elite 2022 (#59PHA 2022) (featured image) – There’s always a career in Football for Shorts. He was like a running back exploding through the hole. The power wing finished through contact at the basket and snagged in traffic rebounds while showing powerful hands.
Isaiah Broady Isaiah Broady 6'8" | PF AZ Compass Prep | 2021 State AZ 6’8 SF AZ Firestorm 2022 (#21PHA 2021) – Broady was a smooth scorer getting buckets off the bounce and knocking down open treys. He has tremendous ball skills for a player his size, showing the ability to freeze defenders with his dribble before raising up and knocking down jumpers. Fun matchup with him and the rangy wings from Emerald City.
Kenzel Massey 6’6 SF Emerald City 2022 (#11PHW 2021) – Massey was one of a plethora of long athletic players for EC. He showed a tight handle and was good in iso situations. Massey displayed a nice crossover, and a good first step, allowing him to get to the cup and finish.
Javarion Hogan Javarion Hogan 5'10" | CG Kellis | 2023 State AZ 5’11 SG AZ Phenoms 2023 – Hogan was a revelation this weekend. I caught up with him shortly after he put up 20 on Friday night but really got to watch him in his 3rd game of the weekend. He showed a nice pull-up jumper and managed to manufacture buckets, of drives and in transition. Overall, his performance opened quite a few eyes this weekend.
