This season ended up being a short AIA season, a full Grind Session season, a condensed CAA season and a longer AAU season with showcase formats.
This 2024 class will definitely be back to normal like the good old days.
Many more will slowly be added every season. Most years I have 100+ already but with COVID, I wasn’t able to see many freshman teams as a normal season.
We look at the Top-8 PF/C’s in the 2024 class:
Some of the higher upside players in the class with 5 in the Top-17 and they have a nice combination of size. length and skill. The true skill from this group is impressive at a young age for their size.
1. Bradey Henige Bradey Henige 7'0" | C Cactus | 2024 State #192 Nation AZ Cactus
-One of the top prospects in the class has legit college size. He has shooting range to the 3pt line and rebounds at a good rate and will block shots in his area.
2. Jovan Milicevic Jovan Milicevic 6'9" | PF Canyon International Academy | 2024 State #100 Nation AZ Dream City (Pictured)
-A highly skilled forward can handle it, shoot it with range and is a very good passer. He has a thicker body to absorb contact in the paint and can create his own opportunities.
3. Ring Nyeri Ring Nyeri 6'8" | PF Liberty | 2024 State #256 Nation AZ Liberty
-One of the higher ceilings in the class had a recent set back with an injury. When healthy he is a top notch rebounder and shot blocker. He is a fluid mover and can push the ball up the court with a nice handle and make a play.
4. Noah Lungu Noah Lungu 6'10" | C Gilbert Christian | 2024 State AZ Casteel
-A long and big post has soft hands with a shooting touch. He is a good two-handed rebounder and scores it on hook shots and put backs. He looks like he is still growing and another with big upside.
5. Evan Coates Evan Coates 6'9" | C Phhoenix Prep | 2024 State AZ Phhoenix Prep
-Like Nyeri, Coates is another that is dealing with early HS injuries. He has legit size, he is still growing and is skilled. He can comfortably shoot it to the 3pt line and uses his size and girth to rebound.
6. Nathan Wanjohi Nathan Wanjohi 6'6" | PF Phhoenix Prep | 2024 AZ Ironwood
-A skilled face-up forward plays with a good motor to rebound in and out of his area. He loves facing up from the high post and in with a nice touch.
7. Gage Galbreath Gage Galbreath 6'3" | PF Centennial | 2024 State AZ Centennial
-A highly skilled forward is undersized but has a sweet shooting stroke from the perimeter with range to the 3pt line. He has strength and girth which he uses to rebound the ball and scores efficiently inside on hook shots and put backs. He was a big contributor on varsity for the 5A State runner-up.
8. Bobby Smith Bobby Smith 6'6" | PF Salpointe Catholic | 2024 State AZ Salpointe Catholic
-Another skilled 4-man can shoot it from mid to the 3pt line. He boxes out well to rebound the ball with two-hands. He is a physical player and not afraid to mix it up versus bigger players. He is also a sneaky good passer for his position.
