Below are evals of some of the SoCal players who turned in standout performances during our live stream viewing.
Tyler Powell Tyler Powell 6'5" | SF Ribet Academy | 2021 State #130 Nation CA-S , 2021, Cali Rebels – Powell continues to show off his improved shooting stroke while also reminding viewers how he broke onto the recruiting scene: his combination of strength, explosiveness and transition ability. Powell is headed to Seton Hall next season and has a chance to be a solid two-way impact guy at the next level.
Maurice Wright Maurice Wright 6'2" | CG Santa Clarita Christian | 2023 State CA-S , 2023, Desert Storm – Wright is an extremely high motor guard who thrives as a lockdown defender on the ball while also utilizing his speed, quickness and to get out and score in transition. Wright can operate both on and off the ball in transition, slashing his way to the basket for high percentage shots.
Isaiah Elohim, 2024, Belmont Shore – Elohim has shown flashes of being one of the brightest young freshmen prospects in the region. The 6-foot-4 guard has an advanced scoring feel for his grade with the ability to knock down jump shots off the catch and off the bounce while also utilizing his ball skills and strength to get to the rim and finish through contact or with a dunk.
Trae Taylor Trae Taylor 6'4" | SF Mission Bay | 2020 State CA-S , 2021, NQB Prep – Taylor, a 2020 graduate of Mission Bay high school, took a prep season before deciding on his college path and he showed some major improvements to his game and his body at this event. The 6-foot-8 forward added some muscle to his frame, but can still stroke the three-ball fluidly and with consistency. Taylor’s added strength has helped his interior finishing ability through contact.
