There were quite a few talented teams including the entire Boo Williams organization, and were lots of talented players across the board. Here’s a look at part three of the many standouts throughout the event.
You can check out the stream and every game on court one of the event on the CBG Live Network.
Rowan Brumbaugh | 6’3” PG | Big Shots Prospect U/Northfield Mt. Hermon (MA) ’22
Brumbaugh is one of the hottest point guard prospects on the east coast as he currently holds offers from Virginia Tech, Wisconsin, Georgetown and more, and he showed why with his ability to run the show and totally control the offense. The 6’2” guard is highly skilled and cerebral with the ball in his hands, as he can create shots for himself and others, is a knock down shooter from deep and is a good athlete and crafty finisher around the basket. He’s a true floor general that gets the best out of his group and sets the tone on both ends of the floor.
Spencer Legg Spencer Legg 6'7" | PF Woodberry Forest | 2021 State VA | 6’5” WF | Big Shots Prospect U/Woodberry Forest ’21
One of the best available guys in VA who says he’s looking at going to prep school, Legg is a skilled wing that has a beautiful shot and can attack off the bounce as well. He’s a big time shooter with a quick release and deep range, and he’s able to use his size when he puts it on the deck to shoot over guys with the pull-up jumper. He’s a high IQ and skilled player that impacts the game in a number of ways and can go on scoring streaks with his ability to shoot it from deep.
Travis Roberts Travis Roberts 6'5" | SG Bishop Walsh | 2022 State MD | 6’5’ WG | Big Shots Prospect U/Bishop Walsh ’22
Roberts is another division one prospect on this team that holds offers from San Diego State, Fresno State, Georgetown and more, and he was one of their most consistent guys on both ends of the floor. At 6’5” he has great size on the wing and can make shots from deep, he’s able to post smaller wings and make shots in the midrange and he’s an athletic finisher at the rim as well. He’s a strong defender and rebounds well for his position, and he plays with a good motor on both ends of the floor as well.
Reis Jones Reis Jones 6'10" | C Flint Hill | 2022 State VA | 6’7” C | Big Shots Prospect U/Flint Hill ’22
Jones was an elite role player for this Prospect U group, and is one of the more underrated and under appreciated big men in the NOVA area. He isn’t the tallest guy for his position but he has long arms and is a good athlete, and he’s an elite rim protector with good timing and the ability to block shots both on the ball and in help side. He played hard regularly when he was in the game and brings a blue collar and gritty mindset to the game.
Matt Gray | 6’4” WG | Big Shots Prospect U/Flint Hill ’22
Gray is a new name from this event that I was very impressed with as he’s a dynamic athlete and a two way impact guy that plays with a great motor. He thrived as a slasher and straight line driver as he could get to the rim regularly and showed the ability to finish through contact or get to the line regularly, and he was explosive in transition where he finished above the rim consistently. He was also a lock down defender that guards multiple positions and can shut down the opposing team’s best player.
Conner Dubsky | 6’2” WG | Prospect U Red/Bishop O’Connell ’22
Dubsky is one of the DMV’s most underrated prospects, but from what I saw this weekend he’s set to have a breakout senior season at O’Connell next year. The 6’2” off guard was a scoring machine this past weekend as he averaged close to 20 points per game and had a breakout game of 33 points against DH2B. He’s a knock down shooter from deep who has good range and consistency, he moves well off the basketball and is able to cut and put himself in situations for easy buckets and he’s a high motor and high IQ guy who can impact the game in a number of ways.
Ryan Sabol Ryan Sabol 6'3" | CG Gonzaga | 2023 State MD | 6’3” CG | Propsect U Red/Bulliss ’23
Sabol is another under the radar prospect for Prospect U Red that is intriguing at his size with his ability to play both on and off the ball and create shots for both himself and others. Sabol is a tough nosed guy on both ends of the floor that has a good IQ and skill set, and is a lights out shooter from deep when he gets it going. He has great range both off the catch and off the bounce, he’s crafty around the rim and he has good wiggle off the bounce and handles pressure well consistently.
