Most of the players on this list have continually seen more playing time on the court and an expanded role with each new year and more open spots within the program. I think this list is a testament to hard work and sticking with the grind even if results are not seen as soon as some would hope. Continue reading for a look at a few of the underrated players from the class of 2022.
Brandon Bethel Brandon Bethel 5'11" | PG Mountain Home | 2022 State ID , Mountain Home: Brandon has been a solid contributor for the Tigers since first entering the program as a freshman. He is a talented point guard that can score at all three levels and has a knack for carrying the majority of the teams’ offensive output. Bethel scores really well around the rim and has a deadly jumper from deep. One of his best attributes is his passing ability which allows him to get his teammates involved and spread the offensive load.
Kross Taylor Kross Taylor 6'3" | SG Lapwai | 2022 State ID , Lapwai: Coming off of a state championship-winning season, Taylor will look to expand his role and become an even bigger offensive contributor for the Wildcats. Taylor has a great jump shot from outside and he routinely knocks down the open 3 when given the opportunity. He has great size and coordination and plays really hard on both ends of the floor. Kross is a solid rebounder as well and loves to contribute to the game in any way possible. Watch for Taylor to have a breakout season in 2022.
Tristan Gentry-Nelson Tristan Gentry-Nelson 6'5" | C St. Maries | 2022 State ID , St. Maries: Gentry is a 6’6″ shooting guard/small forward with a great all-around skill set. Gentry can shoot from outside really well and also plays with his back to the basket. He has fantastic footwork in the post and also does a great job of knocking down the open shot from downtown off of a pick and pop. Gentry is a solid rebounder on the defensive end and also crashes the offensive glass regularly for easy rebounds and put backs. Look for Tristan to lead St. Maries on another championship run in the upcoming season.
