The 2021 Top 5 has some guys that we look forward to follow for some time. The top players in this class could all move up and down, but we can all agree that they have talented futures ahead of them.
#1 Nolan Hickman Nolan Hickman 6'2" | PG Eastside Catholic | 2021 #29 Nation UT , Wasatch Academy
Not only is Nolan a high level player and it has been fun having him in-state but he has really put his stars on the line and he has taken Wasatch Academy to new heights. Nolan will be suiting up for Kentucky next season, but before that even happens we will have a few more chances to watch him play at the high school level. Including the McDonald’s All-American game. Do not be surprised if you see him playing in the league someday.
#2 Jake Wahlin Jake Wahlin 6'8" | SF Timpview | 2021 State #150 Nation UT , Timpview High School
Jake has been in the top of his class for the past few years and he is slated at #2 and he is in good company. The future BYU Cougar has so much potential when it comes to his size and guard play. BYU will have to wait to years till he suits up as he will be serving a 2 year LDS Mission in Lithuania. Jake has all the tools to make an impact once he makes it on campus. He has improved his outside game and his inside game as well. Could lead his team to a state title this year.
#3 Robbie Armbrester Robbie Armbrester 6'6" | SF Wasatch Academy | 2021 State #196 Nation UT , Wasatch Academy
Robbie is a force in the paint and he his a high flyer as well. Love his touch and smooth moves around the basket, but he can also bully his way in the paint and make anyone pay. The future University of Houston prospect could make an impact immediately once he gets on campus as well. Big time player on both ends of the floor.
#4 Ethan Potter Ethan Potter 6'8" | SF Layton | 2021 State #194 Nation UT , Layton High School
Ethan is a force that continues to add to his game. He has turned into a player that can not only get you a bucket near the basket but a player that can step out and knock a shot down from distance, His 15 foot game from the top of the key is elite and his short-corner baseline game is developing nicely. Ethan was a great pick up for Utah Valley University. Ethan will be battling for Mr. Basketball in the state of Utah this year as he did last year as well.
#5 Fousseyni Traore Fousseyni Traore 6'7" | SF Wasatch Academy | 2021 State UT , Wasatch Academy
The future BYU prospect is athletic and long as his wingspan allows him to protect the rim and rebound at a high clip. This long athlete will allow BYU to play him at the 4 and go big or at the 5 and go small as he can hold his own against bigger players. It will be interesting to see how he develops under Mark Pope and company.
