Continue ReadingThe regular season has come and gone and it is now time for the Indiana High School Post-Season. In the coming weeks, we at PrepHoops Indiana plan on bringing you the best coverage in the state during this fun time. Let us take a look at some of the top prospects from Friday’s Sectional 15 games in Seymour.
Bedford North Lawrence: vs New Albany
Ben Cosner – 6’3 2021 W/F: Cosner completely flipped the switch and had a much better game than the other night. Started off the game with 3 strong drives and hit a mid-range jumper. Down the stretch, he hit a big 3 followed by hitting a 15fter at the buzzer to win the game. Cosner found his stride again and if he plays like that tomorrow, it will be a huge advantage for BNL. Finished with 12 points.
Kooper Staley – 6’2 2021 SG: Staley has refused to give up this whole week and especially this game. Defense was on point and had a huge steal and score towards the end of the game. Just made some clutch shots down the stretch that included 3 3s and has just brought that energy at all times. Dude is just battling like crazy. Finished with 14 points.
Jackson Miracle Jackson Miracle 6'5" | SF Bedford North Lawrence | 2021 State IN – 6’5 2021 PF: Although Miracle did not have the offensive night he did on Tuesday, he still contributed in a big way. Had some huge rebounds on both ends and was great about not letting big man Thomas get going. Best plays were his strong baseline drive and clutch putback towards the end. Solid game from Jackson.
Colten Leach – 6’1 2023 PG/SG: Like Tuesday, it took Leach awhile to get going on the offense but man did he come up big tonight. Started to get some strong finishes going and even busted out a rare 3-pointer that proved to be huge down the stretch. He is trusting his teammates and doing what it takes to win. Finished with 13 points.
Colton Staggs – 6’1 2023 PG: Staggs had another solid performance. Had the tough task of guarding Stanton most of the game and fought as hard as he could on that end. Made some great passes and even had a few baskets to complement that. Staggs has been a key player as of late for BNL and will once again be relied apon to do so tomorrow. Finished with 6 points.
New Albany: vs Bedford North Lawrence
Jordan Thomas Jordan Thomas 6'7" | C New Albany | 2021 State IN – 6’7 2021 C: The last two times I have seen Thomas play he has not had the best of game but shows flashes of what he capable of. Solid on the pick and roll and is a great rebounder. Needs to work on getting out of his own head at times and letting the game come to him. Dude has legit size and the skills that can be molded into something special. Potential is still high and if placed in the right spot at the next level he could be developed nicely.
Kaden Stanton – 5’11 2022 PG: Stanton is as legit as they come. Just does everything so well and it so quick and smart about what he does. Had a huge block on an attempted 3 pointer and caused so many turnovers. Got to the basket any time he wanted and his pull up jumper was so smooth and consistent. Finished with 25 points and played like he had something to prove.
Jeffersonville: vs Floyd Central
Brandon Rayzer-Moore Brandon Rayzer-Moore 6'4" | SG Jeffersontown | 2020 IN – 6’5 2022 W: Rayzer-Moore went off tonight. 24 points and was just scoring from all over like he did on Tuesday. This week I have really started to see how special of a player this dude can be. Not the strongest player but his athletic ability and skill set him apart when he is on the floor. He has arguably been the best player in this Sectional so far.
Will Lovings-Watts Will Lovings-Watts 6'5" | SF Jeffersonville | 2022 State IN – 6’5 2022 SF: Lovings-Watts is a stud player, no question. 17 points tonight and made so many big plays. Had a couple of monster slams and made the final shot to win the game. He trusts his teammates and scores when he needs to. Dude is special.
Floyd Central: vs Jeffersonville
Jake Heidbreder Jake Heidbreder 6'3" | SG Floyd Central | 2021 State IN – 6’3 2021 SG: Heidbreder fought until the very end. Made some big plays in triple OT and showed how good of a scorer he is. He leaves Floyd Central as one of the best to play for the Highlanders and has shown so much improvement over the years. Finished on a high note with 31 points. He goes on to the next level to elevate his game.
Caleb Washington Caleb Washington 6'5" | PF Floyd Central | 2023 State IN – 6’5 2023 PF: Washington struggled to get himself in the game as it went on. Missed a few shots but fought on nearly every rebound that came his way. He is very powerful and highly skilled PF so this performance was very rare. No doubt in my mind he will continue to be one of the best bigs in the state these next 2 years.
