SCHSL: Class 4A Roundup

The SCHSL Class 4A teams played last night around the Palmetto State. Several players extended their high school careers to another game while some others finished their careers last night. 

Greenville HS defeated the Lancaster HS Bruins 62-56 last night. Bruins duo Omazeon Tinsley Omazeon Tinsley 5'9" | PG Lancaster | 2021 State SC and Janyle Pittman Janyle Pittman 6'3" | SG Lancaster | 2021 State SC both 1,000 career scorers played their last game as a Bruin. Tinsley a UNSIGNED point guard finished the night with 27 points and 7 assists. Pittman a Mars Hill (NC) signee finished with 14 points and 10 rebounds. The Red Raiders (16-6) 

Travelers Rest HS defeated Irmo HS 49-41 to advance to play Greenville HS in the next round. Jacob Brown Jacob Brown 6'5" | PF Travelers Rest | 2022 State SC a left-handed forward finished with 11 points in the win. The Devildogs (18-3) will host Greenville HS (16-6). on Thursday. Travelers Rest HS defeated Greenville HS 51-49 back in December. Irmo HS finished the season at (11-6).  Julian Kiett Julian Kiett 6'3" | CG Irmo | 2022 State SC and Devin Binyard both finished with 11 points in the loss.

South Pointe HS defeated Greer HS 54-47. 

Aiken HS defeated James Island HS 48-36 to advance to Thursday game vs Hartsville HS. The Fighting Green Hornets led by East Carolina University signee RJ Felton RJ Felton 6'4" | CG Aiken | 2021 State #231 Nation SC scored 11 points. Cohen Gaskins Cohen Gaskins 6'3" | PG James Island | 2021 State SC and Bailey Wiseman Bailey Wiseman 6'2" | CG James Island | 2021 State SC both Converse College (SC) (NCAA D2) signees both finished their careers in a Trojan uniform in the loss. 

AC Flora HS defeated Easley HS 67-47 to advance to the next round. Wake Forest University signee Robert McCray Robert McCray 6'3" | CG AC Flora | 2021 State #142 Nation SC led the way with 16 points. The 2023 trio of Markel Townsend Markel Townsend 5'6" | PG AC Flora | 2023 SC scored 12 points, Chris Parker Chris Parker 6'5" | SF A.C. Flora | 2023 State SC 11 points and Collin Murray-Boyles Collin Murray-Boyles 6'7" | PF AC Flora | 2023 #209 Nation UT added 10 points. The trio look to be the future of Falcons basketball. Kain James Kain James 6'2" | PG Easley | 2022 State SC led Easley HS with 18 points

Myrtle Beach HS traveled across the state to play South Aiken HS last night. The Seahawks defeated the T-Breds 62-59 behind the play of UNSIGNED guard Ayden Hickman Ayden Hickman 6'3" | SG Myrtle Beach | 2021 State SC . Hickman led the charge with 18 points while Xavier Martin Xavier Martin 6'0" | SG Myrtle Beach | 2022 State SC – coach’s son added 15 points. 

Hilton Head Island held off a feisty North Myrtle Beach team 37-36 to advance to the next round. Javi Marlowe Javi Marlowe 6'1" | PG North Myrtle Beach | 2021 State SC , Kymani Knox Kymani Knox 6'4" | PF North Myrtle Beach | 2021 State SC and Cameron Henley Cameron Henley 6'3" | SF North Myrtle Beach | 2021 State SC all UNSIGNED Seniors played their last game in a Chiefs uniform last night. Hilton Head Island will now face Myrtle Beach HS in the next round. The Battle of the Seahawks at The Nest this Thursday. 

Hartsville HS had little trouble with Beaufort HS in a 80-57 win. Cesare Edwards Cesare Edwards 6'9" | PF Hartsville | 2021 State #90 Nation SC a Xavier University signee led the way with 20 points, Kameron Foman Kameron Foman 6'4" | SF Hartsville | 2023 State SC added 14 points while Jamari Briggs Jamari Briggs 6'5" | CG Christ School | 2024 State #227 Nation NC came in with 13 points. The Red Foxes move to (8-3) on the season and will now play Aiken HS on Thursday. 

The SCHSL Playoffs have seen some great kids end their high school career during these tough times. The State of South Carolina has plenty of talent at all levels. #RecruitThePalmettoState
