Hoops 2.0 has been hosting various showcases for the past couple of months, including their most recent one this past Sunday 2/21.
Some of the top talent in Northern and Southern California participated in the event, and here’s a quick look at some of the top standouts.
1. Milandev Chatha – Fremont(Sunnyvale, CA) 2022
Chatha is a pretty mobile big with the ability to stretch the floor. He moves well without the ball and makes strong cuts to the rim. He’s a tough interior player. He follows his misses and doesn’t give up on the play. He fights hard on the glass and can finish strong at the rim. He has good mobility defensively, slides his feet well and can at times, keep up with wings slashing to the rim.
2. Mikey Price – Ribet Academy 2022
Price is a transfer from Crespi and one of the more explosive guard in SoCal. He’s good size; in the mold of a big, strong guard. He’s a slasher who gets into the lane and can finish strong over the defense. He can draw contact at the rim and get himself to the free-throw line. A two-guard who is very comfortable making plays. He can shoot off the bounce and has a solid midrange shot.
3. Tyler Powell Tyler Powell 6'5" | SF Ribet Academy | 2021 State #130 Nation CA-S – Ribet Academy 2021
Powell, a Seton Hall commit, is a player I’ve seen multiple times and each time I watch him he always seems to get better. He used to be a big in middle school but has made the transition to a wing and this is the most comfortable I’ve seen him in that role. Very fluid and efficient with his off the dribble game. Very strong in the midrange and loves to attack off the bounce. Will be an impact player in college.
4. Devean Williams – Narbonne 2021
Williams is a player who definitely has raised his stock at the Hoops 2.0 events. He’s a natural scoring guard, but he has a strong playmaking game. He’s a very unselfish player who is always looking to make the right pass. His size allows him to see the floor over the defense. Strong ball-handler. Such an efficient scorer on the wing, uses that to draw the defense and kick out to the open teammate.
