Ahmad Belton (Knoxville Central) –
Greg Moore Greg Moore 6'4" | SG Knoxville Central | 2021 State TN (Knoxville Central) – Moore established himself early, completely carving up the Maryville High defense throughout the first quarter. Moore is and was wonderful at creating his own shots seemingly out of nothing. Mid-3rd, down by 4 points, Moore pulled up from 20’ and buried a three-pointer.
Darian Bailey (Knoxville Central) – Physical, confident. Bailey did damage in the lane offensively. Bailey played above the Rebel rebounders constantly. His offensive rebounding enabled Central to get a few second-chances they needed to hang on.
Josh Seiler Josh Seiler 6'5" | SF Maryville | 2021 State TN (Maryville) – Seiler’s best minute came midway through the third quarter. The senior provided fearsome help-defense, fly-swatted the basketball from whence it came, and then made an open wing three-pointer on the offensive end.
Charlie Rice (Maryville) – Replacing Joe Anderson Joe Anderson 6'0" | PG Maryville | 2020 State TN was an enormous responsibility and Charlie was not immediately effective in that role. When the games began to get tight and more meaningful this month, Charlie elevated his play to the moment. Rice played extremely steady against a capable defense, turning the ball over rarely. Rice’s handle was strong enough and his patience with the basketball made an enormous difference. Unlike Greg Moore Greg Moore 6'4" | SG Knoxville Central | 2021 State TN , Rice did not need to score for his team to thrive. And so he didn’t try. Rice was brilliant in the final 3-4 minutes of the game when MHS attempted to hold onto a 4-point lead. He comfortably dribbled literal circles around the hapless defenders and drained clock. Maryville capitalized on some late run-outs and the game opened up more. Without Rice’s handle late and composure the tight contest might have finished differently.
Jaylon Harris (Knox Central) – Harris moved well around the floor but could not knock down his mid-range shots and provide the needed scoring support to hang with Maryville.
