Here are the top players from tonight’s game:
1. Carter Birr Carter Birr 5'8" | PG Albany | 2022 MN enkott (2021) |6-5 F| West Fargo – 28 points in the game. He was at his best tonight! Carter did work again on the offensive boards and put backs. He had an impressive spin move that he topped off with a finger roll. Carter had a few nice baseline drives that he finished with physicality at the rim. His floater game was on point tonight. I would guess that over half of his points came from floaters. His most impressive play was when he grabbed a rebound and dribbled coast to coast in transition and finished it with a floater that Steve Nash would be proud of.
2. Carson Hegerle Carson Hegerle 6'3" | SG West Fargo | 2022 State ND (2022) |6-4 G| West Fargo – 23 points in the game with 14 of them in the second half. This is the best I have seen him play this year. He was attacking the basket all night. He put in a floater tonight, he must be taking lessons from Birrenkott. Carson knocked down a three in the first half. He was impressive in transition. Carson had a magnificent lob finish in transition. He was slashing to the paint on-demand tonight. Carson is a very difficult matchup because of his explosiveness, strength, and length.
3. Blake Walthall Blake Walthall 6'0" | PG Moorhead | 2021 State MN (2021) |6-0 G| Moorhead – 17 points tonight with four made triples. The first thing I noticed about him was his quickness. He shoots the 3 effortlessly and effectively. Blake is not afraid of contact when attacking the basket. I liked his hang time after contact and his ability to finish. He has strong fundamentals and is at his best when playing fast.
4. Brett Limke Brett Limke 6'1" | PG West Fargo | 2022 State ND (2022) |6-1 G| West Fargo – 16 points in the game with 4 three-pointers and a perfect 4-4 from the line. He hit a very deep triple tonight from the volleyball line. Brett never seems to get rattled or in a hurry, he is always in control. Brett does a great job taking care of the basketball. He might be the best free-throw shooter in North Dakota.
5. Joel Pease (2021) |6-5 F| West Fargo –15 points in the game and three made triples. This is the best I have witnessed Joel play. He played with great confidence tonight. Joel finished with a nice touch around the rim. He used his size well and shot over shorter defenders. Joel had an impressive fastbreak 2-handed slam dunk.
6. Brady Walthall Brady Walthall 6'0" | PG Moorhead | 2021 State MN (2021) |6-0 G| Moorhead – 15 points in the game with two triples, 11 of those points came in the first half. He has a smooth pull-up jumper.
7. Trey Feeney Trey Feeney 6'2" | SG Moorhead | 2021 State MN (2022) |6-3 F| Moorhead – 13 points in the game with one 3-pointer and 2-2 from the line. He is a strong athlete that moves well. Trey is a good o-rebounder. The lefty quarterback made a bomb pass that went about 80 feet and resulted in an easy layup for the recipient. After that pass, it was easy to see why he is a D1 football recruit.

I like how he finishes with both hands at the rim. He has a great vertical and he is a quick jumper. Belind had a perfect backdoor cut in the second half that led to an easy basket. He is an all-around player that has a good feel for the game.
9. Riley Swenson (2021) |6-4 F| Moorhead – 10 points in the game and he went 2-2 from the charity stripe. I like the way he moves without the ball. Riley spaces the court well and finds the soft spot in the defense. When his teammates are attacking, he drifts to the open spot for a dump down easy basket.
