Riley Brooks Riley Brooks 6'5" | SG Ripon | 2023 State #289 Nation WI – 2023 – SG – Ripon
It was my first live look at Brooks, who’s been having a big sophomore season. Mayville did a great job of making sure Brooks wasn’t going to beat them — doubling on the block, face-guarding him and chasing him beyond the arc, and swarming Brooks when he put the ball on the deck. Brooks had just eight points, but the talent and upside is obvious. Brooks is unique as a lanky 6-foot-5 sniper who can score on and off the ball. He plays a ton of point guard for Ripon as well and was able to dish out a handful of assists, taking advantage of a swarming defense. Brooks is certainly a Division 1 talent and has the tools to really develop into a high major prospect as well.
Amillion Buggs Amillion Buggs 6'4" | SF Wausau West | 2022 State WI – 2022 – SF – Wausau West
Didn’t have a great game against Stevens Point by any means, but Buggs wasn’t all that far from a nice night scoring the basketball. He missed a handful of shots around the rim he’s more than capable of finishing, but still did really well to get to the paint against SPASH’s pack line defense. Buggs is one of the better athletes in the 2022 class and has a nice blend of length and strength. He needs to expand his game and improve his jumper, but Buggs can put the ball on the deck and score at the rim with power or finesse. He’s a freak athlete in the open floor that can do some special things, including alley-oops and chase down blocks. Having a breakout junior campaign, Buggs is averaging 21 ppg this season.
James Jacobs James Jacobs 6'3" | SG Stevens Point | 2022 State WI – 2022 – SG – Stevens Point
Been a while since we’ve been able to see Jacobs live and he impressed during Tuesday’s win over Wausau West. The junior guard chipped in with 12 points on an efficient scoring night. Jacobs plays point guard for SPASH, but had a lot of two-guard skills. He catches defenders by surprise with his handles, able to play low to the ground and use a sweeping crossover that gets people guessing. Jacobs scores it well in the mid-range and has a nice pull-up game off the dribble.
Adison Mittelstadt Adison Mittelstadt 6'2" | CG Mayville | 2023 State WI – 2023 – G – Mayville
Needed to see Mittelstadt live and he lived up to the hype. Currently unranked, Mittelstadt looks like a top 40 prospect in the 2023 class of now. The sophomore has really good combo guard skills and positional size (6-3). In a win over Ripon, he was very good at setting up defenders and getting to his right hand with in-and-out dribbles and hesitation crossovers. Would like to see more of him as a shooter, but Mittelstadt looked really good at getting downhill and generating easy buckets at the rim in the halfcourt. A plus athlete and two-way player, Mittelstadt had 20 points, six rebounds, and three assists in Monday’s win.

Grant Schneider – 2021 – PF – Ripon
Schneider scored a game-high 22 points in Monday’s loss to Mayville. Flirting with double-doubles all season, Schneider gave Ripon a big shot in the arm in the second half, knocking down three triples. The 6-foot-5 senior has a sweet stroke from downtown. With his wide base, Schneider sets good, hard screens and flares out to the perimeter.
Nate Streveler Nate Streveler 6'4" | SG Stevens Point - SPASH | 2022 State WI – 2022 – SG – Stevens Point
Just like the way this kid goes about his business. He’s kind of old school in a way. Doesn’t draw a lot of attention to himself verbally, not going to blow anybody away athletically, but just sticks to what he does and what he knows will make him successful on the floor. Streveler has a very good scoring IQ. He’s relentless off the ball, making defenders chase through and around screens. When defenders cheat, Streveler hits them with a fade. When they’re trailing, he’ll come around on a curl and try to get an easy bucket. The 6-foot-4 junior can play in the post as well. He’s got some unique footwork for a guard and some added length to score fading away or with a jump hook. Averaging better than 20 points per game this season, Streveler came up with 25 in a win over Wausau West on Tuesday.

Braedon Vollmer – 2022 – G – Mayville
Vollmer had some big plays for Mayville in their win over Ripon. Helping hold off the Tigers, Vollmer hit a shot at the buzzer at the end of the first half. Down the stretch, the junior guard had some nice finishes around the rim to keep Ripon at bay. Chipping in with 14 points, Vollmer had some athletic plays on the ball. He also added five rebounds and two assists to his stat line.
