#NEXTSouthwestKickoff: More Notable 2025 Performers (Pt. 2)

Cypress, Texas — The Southwest Kick-Off presented by Prep Hoops Next brought out prospects and teams from all over the country to showcase their talents on one of the biggest up and coming circuits around. Talent oozed out of just about every team at this event, there were bigtime scorers, defenders, rebounders, and more involved in making this tournament so special. The 2025s were loaded with skills, size, and the basketball mindset to become the basketball stars of the future. Here we take a look at a few more of the most outstanding performers from the Class of 2025.

Jason Wickliff | Atascocita, Tx | Class of 2025  #5

Lefty, Jason Wickliff was an absolute basketball magnet, the ball continuously bounced his way on rebounds and steals. He was very impressive with the ball in his hand, seemed a bit ambidextrous as well. Wickliff showed a knack for stealing the ball, taking it the other way, and finishing with either hand on both sides of the basket. High-level defender, Jason looked to pick the pocket of any ball-handler that came his way, and he often had success. 

Austin Nguyen | Houston, Tx | Class of 2025

Austin Nguyen is a raw prospect with great intangibles, a good motor, high intelligence, and a fantastic feel for the game on both offense and defense. He made the correct plays and passes with the ball and knew exactly when and when not to gamble in the passing lanes and while sticking his man. Austin Nguyen showed a lot of potential and promise. 

Jack Paris | Houston, Tx | Class of 2025

6-foot-2-inch, 3-point marksman, Jack Paris proved to be a knockdown shooter with a phenomenal textbook form and release. Paris ran around screens and ran the baseline getting open from deep and making clutch shots that helped his team in a tremendous way. Jack Paris’s shooting prowess was extremely deadly, even when he missed, the shot was still right on the money. 

Prince Jones-Bynum | Houston, Tx | Class of 2025

Prince is a dynamic ball-handler that broke defenders down out on the perimeter all weekend long. Jones-Bynum was insanely quick and fast off the dribble even when pulling-up, he makes his moves and gets his shots up all in one motion. Ideal ball-handler at his position, his dribbling was flawless, very smooth, tight, under control, and elusive. He showed great poise and smart thinking in pressure situations. Prince Jones-Bynum made unselfish plays as well as the passes that led to the bucket that changed the outcomes of games. 

Matt Velasquez | San Antonio, Tx | Class of 2025

This score first guard was on fire from deep and just about anywhere else. His outstanding ability to create his own shot and get a bucket set his team apart from some of the best teams in attendance. Matt Velasquez is a name to keep track of, he’s known for being one of San Antonio’s more dangerous scorers.
