Midlands Roundup

Prep Hoops takes a look at some game results from last night in the Midlands. Schedules are constantly changing and finding out who’s playing is a chore in its own words. The Pee Dee, Grand Strand and the Lowcountry (Charleston) area have been on shutdown since the New Year began for the most part. Lets take a look at some results from the Midlands last night. 

Ridge View HS pounded Spring Valley HS 92-27. The Blazers were led in scoring by Davion Everett Davion Everett 6'4" | SF Ridge View | 2021 State SC with 14 points while Greg Jackson Greg Jackson 6'10" | PF Ridge View | 2023 SC added 13 points. CJ Rich CJ Rich 5'10" | PG Spring Valley | 2023 State SC took high honors for the Vikings with 11 points. 

White Knoll HS defeated Wagener-Salley HS 75-41. Coker University commit Jaylen Ray Jaylen Ray 6'4" | SF White Knoll | 2021 State SC led the Timberwolves with 17 points in the win. 

Dutch Fork HS defeated Lexington HS 56-54. The Silver Foxes got 15 points from Houston Jones Houston Jones 6'4" | SG Dutch Fork | 2022 State SC while Zavier Measmer Zavier Measmer 6'1" | SG Lexington | 2021 State SC led Lexington HS with 23 points. The Silver Foxes move to (5-0) on the year. 

Blythewood HS defeated Northwestern HS (Rock Hill) 65-60. Julian Phillips Julian Phillips 6'8" | SF Link Academy | 2022 #19 Nation MO led the way with 29 points while Barry Hardy Barry Hardy 6'1" | CG Blythewood | 2022 State SC chipped in with 11 points. Jalen Burnett Jalen Burnett 6'3" | SG Northwestern | 2022 State SC led Northwestern HS with 19 points while senior point guard AJ Thompson AJ Thompson 5'10" | PG Northwestern | 2021 State SC added 16 points. 

Gray Collegiate had little problem with the Columbia HS Capitols 89-32 in a region win. Chris Rhone a Coastal Carolina University football signee and Calvin Hall Calvin Hall 6'2" | SG Gray Collegiate | 2022 State SC  both scored 16 points in the win. North Carolina A&T signee Chase McDuffie Chase McDuffie 6'5" | SG Gray Collegiate | 2021 State SC scored 15 points while Trai White Trai White 5'10" | PG Gray Collegiate | 2023 State SC added 10 points in the win. 

Keenan HS defeated Lower Richland HS 56-50 at the Diamond Mine. Marquece Williams led the Raiders with 17 points while Jazian Gortman Jazian Gortman 6'2" | PG Keenan | 2022 SC added 16 points in the win. Dajon Townsend Dajon Townsend 5'9" | PG Lower Richland | 2021 State SC took home high honors for the Diamond Hornets with 16 points. 

AC Flora HS fended off a scrappy Richland Northeast HS team 52-42. Collin Murray-Boyles Collin Murray-Boyles 6'7" | PF AC Flora | 2023 #209 Nation UT led the Falcons with 12 points. Chris Parker Chris Parker 6'5" | SF A.C. Flora | 2023 State SC and Tyrell Green Tyrell Green 5'11" | CG AC Flora | 2022 State SC e both added 10 points while Wake Forest University signee Robert McCray Robert McCray 6'3" | CG AC Flora | 2021 State #142 Nation SC came in with 9 points. 

Bamberg-Ehrhardt HS Red Raiders keep chugging away with a lopsided victory over Bridges Prep 68-26. The Red Raiders (11-1) were led in scoring by Justin Baxter Justin Baxter 6'7" | PF Bamberg-Ehrhardt | 2021 State SC with 19 points while Jacoby Crosby Jacoby Crosby 6'4" | SG Bamberg-Ehrhardt | 2021 State SC added 13 points.

Chapman HS defeated Emerald HS (Greenwood) 75-71 in region play last night. Banks Atkins Banks Atkins 5'10" | SG Chapman | 2021 State SC led the Panthers (8-6) in the win with 24 points. Shep Forrester Shep Forrester 6'2" | SG Emerald | 2021 State SC scored 19 points while teammate Zacoyeis Elmore Zacoyeis Elmore 5'11" | PG Emerald | 2021 State SC added 15 points for Emerald HS in the loss. 

South Aiken HS defeated rival North Augusta HS 65-51 last night. Donavan Hodge Donavan Hodge 5'11" | CG South Aiken | 2021 State SC took high honors for the T-Breds with 31 points while teammate Jonathan Burns Jonathan Burns 6'4" | PF South Aiken | 2021 State SC added 13 points. Austin Harrell scored 22 points while hitting 6 three pointers for the Yellow Jackets. 

Greenville HS defeated a hot Greer HS team last night 55-29. Prometheus Franklin Prometheus Franklin 6'3" | PG Greenville | 2022 State SC led the Red Raiders with 16 points while Jaquarious Jones Jaquarious Jones 6'2" | SF Greenville | 2021 State SC added 11 points in the win. 

Wren HS defeated Daniel HS 58-44. The Golden Hurricanes were in scoring by Josh Owens Josh Owens 6'3" | SF Wren | 2021 State SC with 18 points while guard James Davis James Davis 5'7" | PG Wren | 2022 State SC added 17 points. Wren HS moves to (10-3) on the season.
