CHSAA Weekly Spotlight

The spotlight this week shines on some of the upperclassmen at the city’s catholic school league.

Todd Rochelle Todd Rochelle 6'2" | PG St. Francis Prep | 2022 NLG .       6”2.     2021.      St. Francis Prep HS

This lefty guard has great leadership qualities. He leads by example. High basketball IQ. A player who just makes shots. Really good defender. Took on the reins of point guard in his junior year and did not miss a beat. He can be a combo guard at the next level. Working on expanding his range. Has an offer from St. Rose (D2). He is worth looks from low D1 in my opinion.

Kedar Davis           6”4.     2021.      St Rays HS    

Has a nose for the ball. Rebounds well. High motor player. Good post defender. Excellent footwork. Ability to score around the rim. Can also step out and take you off the dribble. Working on consistency with his jumper.

Matt Montella      6”5.     2021.      McClancy HS

Can score at all three levels. Good at catch and shoot. Has very good timing in blocking shots. Working on adding some strength.

Tariquek Foster.     6”6.      2022.    Cardinal Hayes HS

Tremendous skill set. Real nice rotation and touch from the outside. Very high ceiling. A lot of room to grow. Nice long frame. Has all the tools. Should be a big-time riser in the recruiting circles. Needs to add muscle.

Zis Blades              6”4         2021.        Christ the King HS

A coach’s dream. A winning player. Does all the things to get his team the win. Good finisher at the rim. Tough and extremely smart player. High IQ on and off the court. Working on improving his shot.

Omari Ward.         5”11.        2022.           Fordham Prep HS

As a sophomore, he earned the keys to the car. The point guard for a very talented team. He was the consummate floor general. Getting the ball to the right guy at the right time. Excellent handle with great court vision. Has had very good showings in summer and fall camps and tourneys. Has worked on his shooting and it shows. A rising star.
