The competition at this event was the highest it has been and was an impressive showcase of all of the talent in the great state of Texas. Be on the lookout for the rest of my content, as I thoroughly cover this event.
Jaythan Jackson 2021 Combo Guard 6’3 Rockhill High School
Jaythan is a lanky combo guard who plays engaged on ball defense and thrives at picking off passes in the passing lanes. His basketball intelligence is always on display on the defensive end of the floor, seeming to know exactly where the ball handler wants to go with the basketball. He is a solid shooter off the catch, especially from atop the key and along the wings. He has good athletic ability and is very successful in the open court.
Maurice Pinnock 2021 5’11 Guard Clear Creek High School
Maurice is a skilled guard who can knock down shots and create for others as he attacks the rim. He is great at working out of the triple threat and attacking the second defender. He is a smart passer who gets wide open looks to his bigs on dump off passes. I was impressed with his ability to score at all three levels, especially behind the arc and in the paint. He is an aggressive player who hunts for his own shots, but also creates for his teammates with ease.
Jonquil Chase 2021 6’0 Guard Cypress Lakes High School
Jonnquil is an athletic guard who has a good handle and a shifty playmaking ability. I was impressed with his ability to drive and dish and set up his teammates. His on-court awareness and ability to fire crisp passes into tough spots and through tough angles makes him an elite playmaker. I would like to see him work on his ability to score off the bounce behind the arc and be more fearless when attacking the paint and a help defender.
Myles Shields Myles Shields 6'3" | CG Tilton | 2022 TX 2021 6’2 Guard Wylie East High School
Myles is an athletic scoring guard who can do it all on both sides of the floor. He has long arms allowing him to get his hand on blocks and poke the ball free from ball handlers. He is a lethal weapon on the fast break, especially scoring in the lane. I was impressed with his ability to shoot in the midrange and behind the arc, and his ability to shoot over taller defenders. This is my third time watching this offensive weapon, and he only seems to get better every time he steps on the floor. I would like to see continued development in his playmaking and overall distribution.
